Log new Privy signups in a Google Sheets spreadsheet
Each new signup captured by your Privy pop-ups and forms is written to a new row in Google Sheets, giving you a running list of sign-ups you can sort, share or import elsewhere.

What this workflow does
Privy collects email sign-ups from pop-ups, flyouts and bars on your store. Getting that list out to share with a partner, check a campaign's numbers or hand to a sales assistant usually means an export each time. This workflow keeps a Google Sheet up to date instead.
The Privy trigger, Signup(s), fires when a new signup happens. FlowMattic sends the signup data to Google Sheets, where Add New Row writes it into the spreadsheet and sheet you choose. You decide which signup values go in which column when you map the step.
Every signup adds a row, and nothing checks whether the address is already in the sheet. If someone signs up twice, through two different campaigns for example, they appear twice. That can be useful for counting sign-ups per campaign, and easy to clean up with a sort when you need a unique list.
Comparing pop-up campaigns
Add the campaign name from Privy as a column, then count sign-ups per campaign in the sheet to see which offer people respond to.
Sharing leads with a wholesale partner
A partner who stocks your product can view the sheet of sign-ups from a co-branded pop-up without access to your Privy account.
Backup of your sign-up list
The sheet keeps a copy of every signup outside Privy, which helps if you later move to another email tool.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Privy Signup(s)Fires when a new signup happens in Privy. The signup details are passed to the Google Sheets step so you can choose what to record.
Google Sheets Add New RowAdds a new row to the Google Sheets spreadsheet you pick with the mapped signup data. Set up column headers first, connect your Google account and map each column.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Privy AccountAccount
- Google Sheets AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a column for the date and time of the signup so you can filter the sheet by week or month later.
- If you only want sign-ups from one Privy campaign, add a Filter after the trigger that checks the campaign value once you've seen it in a test run.
- Add a Text Formatter step to lowercase the email before the row is written, which makes duplicates easier to spot.
Questions about this workflow
Will a Privy subscriber who signs up twice appear twice in the sheet?
Yes. Add New Row always adds a row, so each signup event produces one. Sort or remove duplicates in Google Sheets when you need a unique list.
Does this include Privy orders?
No. Privy has a separate Order(s) trigger. This workflow only listens for Signup(s).
Can I record which Privy campaign the signup came from?
If Privy sends that value with the signup, yes. Make a test signup after import and look at the captured data before you map columns.
Are my existing Privy contacts copied into the sheet?
No. Only signups after the workflow is turned on are added. Export your existing list from Privy if you need it in the same sheet.
