Save each new Alchemer survey response to a Google Sheets spreadsheet

Each time someone submits one of your Alchemer surveys, FlowMattic adds their answers to a Google Sheets spreadsheet as a new row, giving you a growing table of responses to sort, chart and share.

Alchemer Google Sheets

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 3.2k sites Free to import

The Save each new Alchemer survey response to a Google Sheets spreadsheet workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Alchemer, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Survey answers are most useful when the people who need them can open them without logging in to the survey tool. A shared spreadsheet lets a manager scan the latest feedback, chart scores or hand responses to another team. This workflow keeps that sheet filled with every new Alchemer response.

The Alchemer trigger, New Survey Response, fires when a survey is submitted. Each answer in the response can then be picked from FlowMattic's data list. The Google Sheets step then adds a row to the sheet you pick, putting each answer you mapped into its own column.

All responses are saved, because the template has no Filter. Submit one test response after import so FlowMattic captures the answer fields, then map them to your columns and confirm the row in Task History.

Customer satisfaction scores for a support team

After each support case closes, customers fill in an Alchemer survey. The team lead charts the scores from the sheet each week without exporting a report.

Event feedback for organisers

Attendees rate sessions in Alchemer after an event. Speakers get read access to the sheet to see comments as they come in.

Product research across teams

Product managers send a feature survey, and designers who have no Alchemer seat read every answer in the shared Google Sheet.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Alchemer New Survey Response

Fires when a new response to your Alchemer survey is submitted. The respondent's answers are passed on to be mapped into the spreadsheet.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Saves the response as a row in the Google Sheets file you pick. Set a header for each question, map each to the matching Alchemer answer, and connect your Google account on import.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Alchemer AccountAccount
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only for low scores, if you want a sheet of unhappy responses your team should follow up on.
  • Run a copy of this workflow for each Alchemer survey with its own sheet, so answers from different questionnaires never mix in the same columns.
  • Leave the response columns alone and do your charts and counts on a second tab, so new rows always land under the right headers.

Questions about this workflow

Are Alchemer responses submitted before import added to the sheet?

No. The trigger fires for new responses, so only surveys submitted after you turn the workflow on reach Google Sheets.

What if I add a question to the Alchemer survey later?

Give the new question its own header, then map its answer in the Google Sheets step. Until you do, the sheet never receives it.

Can partial Alchemer responses be saved too?

The trigger fires when a survey is submitted, so expect submitted responses only. Submit a test response to see which answers arrive.
