What this workflow does
A busy Facebook Page collects questions, thank-yous and spam all day, and somebody has to read every one. This workflow hands that first pass to an AI agent: it reads each new comment and either answers it in your Page's voice or removes it.
The Facebook Pages New Comment trigger fires when a new comment is created on your Page. The AI Agent step, set up with OpenAI GPT-4o, receives the comment text with the line "New comment on our Page". Its instructions say to reply helpfully and briefly to genuine questions or kind remarks, to delete spam, abusive or hateful comments without replying, and to take exactly one action.
The agent has two tools. Reply to a Comment lets it write the reply text itself, and Delete a Comment removes a comment. The agent decides which tool to use, so a borderline comment may get a reply you wouldn't have written, or none at all. Neither tool has the comment to act on mapped in, and the agent only receives the text, so after import map the comment's ID from the New Comment trigger into both tools.

- If your Page's own replies start new runs, put a Filter between the New Comment trigger and the AI Agent step that stops comments whose author is your Page, using the author field from a test run.
- Include the post's text in the agent's input next to the comment, so replies can refer to what the comment is about.
- Before letting the agent delete anything, test with a set of real past comments and compare what the agent step returned in Task History with what you would have done.
Questions about this workflow
Will the AI agent always reply or delete a Facebook comment?
It is told to take exactly one action, but the agent makes the call. Some comments may get neither, and its judgement on borderline ones may differ from yours. Review a sample of runs in Task History.
Can I see what the agent wrote before it posts the reply?
Not as imported. The agent posts replies directly through the Reply to a Comment tool. If you want review first, adapt the workflow so a person approves replies before they're posted.
Do I need an OpenAI account for this Facebook workflow?

Is a deleted comment gone for good?
