Post new WordPress posts to your Facebook page
When a post goes live on your WordPress site, this workflow creates a post on your Facebook Page with the text and link you map, so followers see new articles without you sharing each one by hand.

What this workflow does
Writing the article is the hard part, yet sharing it still takes a few minutes every time: open Facebook, paste the link, write an intro. On a busy blog that step gets skipped. This workflow shares each post on your Facebook Page as soon as it is published.
The WordPress trigger, New Post, runs a single time for each post, at the moment it first becomes published. Editing a post that is already live does not fire it again, and pages never do. Custom post types also count unless you limit the trigger to one post type. FlowMattic passes the post's details, such as its title and link, to Facebook Pages, where the Create Page Post step publishes a new post on the Page you connect.
You decide what the Facebook post says: the title, an excerpt, the permalink, or text of your own. Each published WordPress post creates one Facebook post. Task History keeps a record of what was sent and Facebook's response.
Local news or community blog
Every story you publish appears on your Facebook Page with its headline and link, so Page followers see it without visiting the site first.
Business blog with a small team
Writers publish in WordPress and don't need access to the company Facebook Page. Their posts are shared there under the Page's name.
Scheduled WordPress posts
You schedule posts in WordPress for the week ahead. Each one reaches Facebook when it goes live, even if you are offline at that moment.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
WordPress New PostStarts a run the first time a WordPress post goes live. Updates to live posts and pages don't start a run. The post's title, link and other details come into FlowMattic for the Facebook step.
Facebook Pages Create Page PostPublishes a new post on your Facebook Page. Connect the Page, then build the message from the WordPress post, for example the title and permalink, plus any text you want every share to include.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Facebook Pages AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Limit the trigger to standard posts if you have custom post types, such as products or events, that you don't want shared on Facebook.
- To keep some posts off Facebook, add a Filter after the trigger on a value such as the category, if the trigger data includes it, and continue only for posts you want shared.
- Publish a test post after import, then check the Page and Task History. Adjust the message if the link preview or text doesn't look right.
Questions about this workflow
Will updating an old WordPress post share it on Facebook again?
No. The New Post trigger fires once, when a post first moves to published. Edits to a live post don't start a new run.
Does a WordPress page get shared to my Facebook Page?
No. WordPress pages never fire this trigger. Posts and custom post types do, unless you set the trigger to one post type.
Can it post to a personal Facebook profile?
No. The step is Create Page Post, which creates a post on a Facebook Page you manage, not on a personal profile.
What if the Facebook post fails?
Your WordPress post is unaffected and stays published. Task History shows the error Facebook returned so you can fix the connection or message and share it by hand.
