Send a confirmation email via Gmail for each Divi Engine form submission

When a visitor submits a Divi Engine form, this workflow sends them a confirmation email from your Gmail account, so they know their message reached you and you don’t have to reply by hand.

Divi Engine Gmail

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 1.4k sites Free to import

The Send a confirmation email via Gmail for each Divi Engine form submission workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Divi Engine, Gmail
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

A visitor who fills in your form and hears nothing back may wonder whether it worked, or send it twice. Replying to each one yourself takes time you could spend on the actual request. This workflow sends that first acknowledgement for you, from the Gmail address you already use.

The Divi Engine trigger runs when a user successfully submits the Divi form. Its fields, including the visitor's email address, become data you can map. The Gmail step then sends an email through your connected Google account, with the visitor's address in the recipient field and your own subject and message, which can include their name or any other answer.

Every successful submission gets the email, because there is no Filter in between. The message comes from your Gmail account, so it also appears in your Sent folder. Task History shows each run if you need to check whether a confirmation went out.

Contact page on a Divi site

Visitors who use your contact form receive a short note saying you got their message and when they can expect an answer.

Booking or quote requests

A Divi form for quote requests sends each person a summary of what they asked for, built from their own answers, so they can spot a mistake.

Freelancer intake form

New client enquiries get a reply from your Gmail address with the next steps, which keeps the thread in your inbox when they answer.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Divi Engine Form Submission

Runs when a user successfully submits the Divi form on your site. The visitor's answers, including the email field, are passed on for mapping.

  2. Step 2Action
    Gmail Send Email

Emails the Divi form submitter through the Gmail account you connect. Map the form's email field as the recipient, then write the subject and body, adding form answers such as the visitor's name.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Divi Engine AccountAccount
  • Gmail AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Make the email field required in your Divi form, so every submission carries an address the Gmail step can send to.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger if you only want to confirm certain submissions, such as those where a consent box is ticked.
  • Submit the form once with your own address after import, then use that test entry to map the fields and check how the email reads.

Questions about this workflow

Which address does the Divi Engine confirmation come from?

It is sent from the Gmail account you connect to the Gmail step, so replies from visitors come back to that inbox.

What if a visitor leaves the email field blank on the Divi form?

The Gmail step has no recipient to send to, and Task History shows the error for that run. A required email field on the Divi form prevents that gap.

Does this replace the Divi form's own notification to me?

No. The workflow only listens for submissions and emails the visitor. Any notification the form already sends you keeps working as before.
