Send a Gmail welcome email after each new FlexiFunnels purchase

Every new FlexiFunnels purchase sends a welcome email from your Gmail account to the buyer, written by you and filled with purchase details such as their name, so each customer hears from you after buying.

The Send a Gmail welcome email after each new FlexiFunnels purchase workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across FlexiFunnels, Gmail
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Someone has just bought through your FlexiFunnels funnel. A personal note from your own address, saying thanks and explaining what happens next, is a good start to that relationship. Writing it by hand for every sale doesn't keep up once orders come in steadily.

The FlexiFunnels trigger fires on each new purchase. FlowMattic receives the purchase data and passes it to Gmail, where the Send Email action sends your message from the account you connect. You map the buyer's email address as the recipient and write the subject and body, adding values from the purchase wherever you want them.

The trigger is a purchase, not a new customer. Someone who buys a second time gets the welcome email again. If that matters, word the email so it suits any purchase. Make a test purchase after import to see the data FlexiFunnels sends, and look in Task History for each email sent.

Course creator welcoming students

A buyer purchases your course through a FlexiFunnels checkout. The Gmail welcome explains where to log in and who to contact with questions.

Coach confirming a booked package

Each package sale sends a note from the coach's own Gmail with a link to book the first session.

Digital product seller

After each purchase, the buyer gets a personal thank-you from your inbox with tips for getting started with the product.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    FlexiFunnels New Purchase

Fires when a new purchase is made through FlexiFunnels. The purchase data, including the buyer's details, becomes available to use in the email.

  2. Step 2Action
    Gmail Send Email

Sends your welcome message from the Gmail account you connect. Map the buyer's email from FlexiFunnels as the recipient, then write a subject and body with any purchase values you want included.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • FlexiFunnels AccountAccount
  • Gmail AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Address the buyer by name in the subject or first line, mapping the name value from the FlexiFunnels purchase if it is sent.
  • Add a Router after the trigger with one route per product name, each with its own Gmail step, so buyers of different products get a welcome that fits. Use exact product names so one purchase can't match two routes.
  • Add a Delay before the Gmail step if you would rather the welcome reach the buyer some time after checkout instead of straight away.

Questions about this workflow

Will a repeat FlexiFunnels buyer get the welcome email twice?

Yes. Every new purchase runs the workflow, so a customer who buys again receives the email again. Write it so it reads well for any purchase.

Which address does the FlexiFunnels welcome email come from?

It goes out from whichever Gmail account you link to the Send Email step. Customer replies land in that same inbox.

Can I send a different welcome for each FlexiFunnels product?

Not as imported; there is one email for all purchases. Add a Router that checks the product name and give each route its own Gmail step.

The software works really well, and the team is adding integrations constantly, so I'm positive it eventually will catch up with Zapier. The flows are very easy to create and if you have any doubt, the team will give you great support.
