Send a Slack alert when a Viterbit application moves to a new stage
Whenever an application in Viterbit changes stage, FlowMattic posts a message in the Slack channel you choose, so your hiring team sees candidate movement without logging in to the recruiting tool.

What this workflow does
Hiring involves people who rarely open the recruiting tool: interviewers, team leads and the manager who signs off on the offer. They still want to know when a candidate moves forward. This workflow posts every Viterbit stage change into a Slack channel where those people already read.
The Viterbit trigger fires when an application is moved to a different stage in your hiring pipeline. FlowMattic receives the application data from that event. The Slack step then sends a channel message that you compose, using fields from the event such as the candidate, the job and the new stage, depending on what Viterbit includes.
Every stage change sends a message, whichever direction the candidate moves, including moves to a rejected or archived stage if your pipeline has one. If that is too much for one channel, add a Filter on the stage name. Task History shows each message the workflow posted.
Interview panel channel
Interviewers follow one Slack channel and see when a candidate reaches the interview stage, so they know to check their calendars.
Hiring manager updates
A manager hiring for one role gets a post each time an applicant moves on, without asking the recruiter for a status update.
Offer stage sign-off
Filter the messages to the offer stage, so finance and leadership see when an offer is being prepared.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Viterbit Application Stage ChangeStarts each time an application changes stage in Viterbit. Connect your Viterbit account and move a test application so FlowMattic captures the fields that come with the event.
Slack Send Channel MessageSends a message to the Slack channel you choose. Connect your workspace, pick the channel, and write the message with fields from the Viterbit event, such as the candidate name and the new stage.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Viterbit AccountAccount
- Slack AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only for the stages your team cares about, such as interview and offer, so the channel is not filled with early screening moves.
- Hiring for several teams? Use a Router with one route per job or department and a Slack step on each route, posting to that team's channel. Each route's condition should name a distinct value so a move matches one route.
- Keep candidate details out of public channels. Post to a private hiring channel, and put only the name, job and stage in the message.
Questions about this workflow
Does every Viterbit stage change post to Slack?
Yes, as imported. Any move between stages runs the workflow. Add a Filter on the stage field to post only the moves you want.
Which Viterbit details can go into the Slack message?
The fields Viterbit sends with the stage change event. Move a test application after import and the Slack step lists those fields for you to insert.
Can the Slack message go to a direct message instead of a channel?
As imported, it posts to a channel only. If the Slack app in FlowMattic offers a direct message action, swap the step for it and map the recipient.
