What this workflow does
Affiliates like to know when a commission they earned has been approved. Telling each one by hand doesn't scale once you have more than a few partners. This workflow emails the affiliate as soon as one of their commissions is approved in AffiliatePress.
The AffiliatePress Commission Status Changed trigger fires whenever a commission's status changes, whether to pending, approved or rejected. A Filter right after it continues only when the new status label exactly matches "approved". Changes to any other status stop there.
For approved commissions, the Email step writes to the email address of the affiliate's WordPress user. The subject is "Your commission was approved" and the body is a short line confirming it. The email goes out through WordPress mail or the SMTP account you set in FlowMattic.
The Filter compares the status text exactly. Approve a test commission and check in Task History that the label reads "approved" in the same form; if it differs, for example in capitals, change the Filter value to match. As imported, the email doesn't name the commission or amount, so add those fields from the trigger if you want them.

Do affiliates get an email for pending or rejected AffiliatePress commissions?
No. The trigger fires for every status change, but the Filter stops any run whose new status isn't "approved".
Which address does the approval email go to?
The email of the WordPress user linked to the affiliate, which the trigger passes to the Email step.
Does the email say how much the commission is?
Not as imported. The body is a general confirmation. Add the commission amount from the trigger data to the body after you check a test run.
What if a commission is approved, changed back and approved again?
Each change to approved passes the Filter, so the affiliate gets another email each time.
