What this workflow does

Some teams plan inside WordPress with FluentBoards while clients, contractors or another department work in Nifty PM. Setting up the same project twice is easy to forget, and the two tools drift apart from day one. This workflow opens the Nifty PM project as soon as the board exists.

The FluentBoards trigger fires when a new board is created. Edits, archiving and restoring a board don't start it. The board's details, such as its title and description, are passed to Nifty PM.

The Nifty PM step creates a new project. It ships unmapped, so after import connect your Nifty PM account and map the board title into the project name, plus a description if you want one. Create a test board and check Task History to see what FluentBoards sent and what Nifty PM returned.

The link is one-way and one-time. Tasks, stages and later changes to the board stay in FluentBoards; the workflow only creates the matching project when the board is first created.

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

Add Nifty PM's Create Task List step after Create Project if every project should start with the same lists, pointing it at the new project from the Create Project step's result. A test run shows what that step returns.
Prefix the Nifty PM project name with something like "FB:" when you map the board title, so it's clear which projects came from FluentBoards.
If only some boards belong in Nifty PM, put a Filter between the FluentBoards trigger and the Nifty PM step that checks the board title for a keyword you use.

Questions about this workflow

Do FluentBoards tasks copy over to Nifty PM?

No. The workflow only creates the project when the board is created. Tasks added to the board later stay in FluentBoards unless you build a separate workflow on FluentBoards' Task Created trigger.

Will renaming the FluentBoards board rename the Nifty PM project?

No. Board updates don't start this workflow, so the Nifty PM project keeps the name it got when it was created.
