When a digest is created in Paced Email, add the details to Google Spreadsheet

Every time Paced Email creates a digest, this workflow adds its details to a row in Google Sheets, giving you a log of digests you can search, sort and keep after the emails are gone.

Paced Email Google Sheets

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 3.0k sites Free to import

The When a digest is created in Paced Email, add the details to Google Spreadsheet workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Paced Email, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Paced Email gathers incoming messages and sends them on as digests. That cuts down inbox noise, but it also means the record of what arrived lives in each digest email. This workflow copies the details of every new digest into Google Sheets, so you have one place to look back over them.

The Paced Email trigger fires on Digest Created and passes the digest's details to FlowMattic. The second step, Google Sheets Add New Row, writes those details to the spreadsheet you pick, each in the column you map.

Each digest adds a new row, so the sheet becomes a running history. Wait for a digest to be created after import, or trigger one if you can, then map the values Paced Email sends to your columns. Task History shows each run if a row seems to be missing.

Notification archive

Alerts from several services are routed through Paced Email. The sheet keeps a dated log of each digest that your team can search later.

Reporting on message volume

With one row per digest, you can count digests by week and see when activity was high.

Shared view for a team

Teammates who don't receive the digest emails can read the sheet to see what has been sent.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Paced Email Digest Created

Starts the workflow when Paced Email creates a new digest in your connected account. The digest's details are passed to Google Sheets.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Writes a new row to the Google Sheets spreadsheet you choose. Map the Paced Email values to your columns, and connect your Google account on import.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Paced Email AccountAccount
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a date column and map a time value from the digest into it, if Paced Email sends one, so you can sort and filter the log by day.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger if you use several Paced Email inboxes and want only one of them logged, based on a value a test digest shows.
  • If the sheet gets long, start a new tab each quarter and point the Add New Row step at it.

Questions about this workflow

Which digest details go into the sheet?

The ones you map. The trigger passes what Paced Email sends for each digest; check a test run to see the available values.

Are older Paced Email digests added?

No. Only digests created after the workflow is turned on get a row.

Does this change how Paced Email sends my digests?

No. The workflow only receives the digest event and writes a row. Your Paced Email settings and delivery stay as they are.
