When a new conversation is created in ThriveDesk, check if the email is valid with EmailListVerify, and add new member to list in Mailchimp
When a customer opens a new ThriveDesk conversation, EmailListVerify checks their email address and the person is then added to your Mailchimp audience, or updated if they are already on it.

What this workflow does
People who write to your support desk are often customers you would like to keep in touch with. Moving each address across by hand takes time, and you only learn about a typo when a campaign bounces. This workflow passes each new conversation's sender through an email check and then on to your mailing list.
The ThriveDesk trigger fires when a new conversation is created in your inbox. FlowMattic sends the customer's address to EmailListVerify with the Verify Single Email action, and the verification response becomes data you can map in the next step. The last step uses Mailchimp Add New Member, which adds the person to the audience you pick, or updates them if they are already a member.
Note that no step in the template reads the verification result. Every new conversation reaches Mailchimp, whether the address passed the check or not. To keep failed addresses out, add a Filter between the two actions. Task History logs each run, including the EmailListVerify response.
Turn support contacts into a customer list
A software shop wants everyone who contacts support on its product-update list. Each new ThriveDesk conversation adds the sender to that Mailchimp audience without anyone exporting contacts.
Spot bad addresses on support conversations
Customers sometimes type their address wrongly in a contact widget. The EmailListVerify response for each run shows in Task History, so you can see which conversations came from an address that failed.
Build a segment of people who needed help
Send ThriveDesk senders to a dedicated Mailchimp audience, then use it later for a follow-up survey or a how-to series aimed at customers who reached out.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
ThriveDesk New Conversation CreatedRuns each time a new conversation is created in your ThriveDesk inbox. The conversation data, including the customer details ThriveDesk sends, is available to map in the next two steps.
EmailListVerify Verify Single EmailSends the customer's email address from the conversation to EmailListVerify for a single-address check. Connect your EmailListVerify account and map the email here. The response can be used in later steps.
Mailchimp Add New MemberPuts the customer into your chosen Mailchimp audience as a new member, or refreshes their details when the address is already a member. Map the email and any name data from ThriveDesk, and run a test to confirm what reaches Mailchimp.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- ThriveDesk AccountAccount
- EmailListVerify AccountAccount
- Mailchimp AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the EmailListVerify step that continues only when the result equals the value EmailListVerify returns for a deliverable address. Failed addresses then stop before Mailchimp.
- Run one test conversation from your own address and open Task History. You will see the exact fields ThriveDesk and EmailListVerify return, which makes the Mailchimp mapping and any Filter condition easy to set.
- Send ThriveDesk senders to a separate Mailchimp audience from your newsletter if you only want to email them about support topics. Pick that audience in the Mailchimp step.
Questions about this workflow
Will a sender whose address fails EmailListVerify still reach Mailchimp?
Yes, as imported. The EmailListVerify check runs, but no step reads its result, so each new conversation's sender goes on to Mailchimp. Add a Filter after the check to stop addresses that fail.
What if the customer is already on my Mailchimp list?
Add New Member adds a new member or updates an existing one, so a returning customer is updated rather than duplicated.
Do replies in an existing ThriveDesk conversation start the workflow?
No. Only the creation of a conversation fires the trigger; later messages in that thread don't. A customer who opens a second conversation later runs it again, and Mailchimp updates their existing record.
Which accounts does this ThriveDesk to Mailchimp workflow need?
A ThriveDesk account, an EmailListVerify account for the check, and a Mailchimp account with the audience you want to fill. You connect all three in FlowMattic after import.
