When a new form entry is received, add a subscriber to Mailchimp

Every Piotnet Forms entry adds the person to your Mailchimp audience, or updates them if they are already a member, so sign-ups from your Elementor-built forms reach your email list.

Piotnet Forms Mailchimp

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 557 sites Free to import

The When a new form entry is received, add a subscriber to Mailchimp workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Piotnet Forms, Mailchimp
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Piotnet Forms lets you build forms in Elementor, but the people who fill them in do not reach your Mailchimp list by themselves. Exporting entries and importing them into Mailchimp is a chore that leaves new subscribers waiting. This workflow sends each one across when the form is sent.

The Piotnet Forms New Form Entry trigger runs for each submission and passes the answers to FlowMattic. The Mailchimp Add New Member action then adds the person to the audience you choose, or updates their details if that email is already a member. You map the email field, plus a name if your form collects one.

Piotnet Forms keeps handling the entry the way your form is set up to. Only the Mailchimp step sends data off your site. Look in Task History to see each entry and what was sent.

Newsletter box in a site footer

A one-field Piotnet sign-up form in your Elementor footer feeds Mailchimp directly, so new readers get your next newsletter.

Contact form with a newsletter opt-in

Visitors who send an enquiry and tick a newsletter box also join your Mailchimp audience, once you add a Filter on that checkbox.

Webinar registrations

People register through a Piotnet form and land in the Mailchimp audience you use for reminders and the follow-up recording.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Piotnet Forms New Form Entry

Fires for each submission to your Piotnet form. The submitted answers, including the email, can be mapped into Mailchimp.

  2. Step 2Action
    Mailchimp Add New Member

Adds the person to your Mailchimp audience, or updates the member if the email is already on the list. Choose the audience, then map the email field and any name fields from the form.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Piotnet Forms PluginPlugin
  • Mailchimp AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • If the form has a consent or newsletter checkbox, add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when it is ticked, so only people who agreed are added.
  • Make the email field required in the Piotnet form, so every entry that reaches the Mailchimp step has an address to add.
  • If you run several Piotnet forms, add a Filter on the form ID or name, if the trigger sends one, so only the right form adds people to this audience.

Questions about this workflow

What if the Piotnet Forms visitor is already on my Mailchimp list?

The Add New Member action updates an existing member instead of adding a duplicate, so the person stays on your list once.

Does every Piotnet Forms entry add someone to Mailchimp?

Yes, as imported there is no condition between the trigger and Mailchimp. Add a Filter if only some entries should be added.

Is Elementor required alongside Piotnet Forms for this Mailchimp workflow?

Piotnet Forms builds its forms inside Elementor, so you need Elementor on the site where the form and FlowMattic run, plus a Mailchimp account.

Are past Piotnet Forms entries sent to Mailchimp?

No. Only entries submitted after the workflow is turned on are added.

Was spending much more on Zapier and running out of tasks, now have unlimited tasks. Team is continuing to add integrations and taking feedback. Creator of company is ultra responsive to emails and helpful always.

It's an exceptional product. Works great and extremely valuable. I saved thousands of dollard on Zapier, as Flowmattic makes me able to host the automation myself. And very deeply integrates with the products I need.
