When a new record is created in Airtable, list orders in Printify

When a new record appears in your Airtable base, FlowMattic asks Printify for a list of orders from your shop, giving you the order data inside the run to build on with further steps.

The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Some teams track print-on-demand work in Airtable and fulfil it through Printify. When a new record goes in, you may want to see what Printify currently holds for the shop without logging in to check. This template starts that look-up for you, and it is meant as a base you extend.

The Airtable trigger fires when a new record is created in the base and table you connect. FlowMattic then runs the List Orders action in Printify, which retrieves a list of orders from a shop. The orders come back as data inside the run.

Nothing happens after the Printify look-up in the shipped template. It does not write the orders back to Airtable or send them anywhere, so the result is only visible in Task History. To make it useful day to day, add a step after Printify, such as updating the new Airtable record or posting a summary to your team. The list is not matched to the record's contents unless you add steps that do that.

Starting point for an order sync

Import the template, then add an Iterator and an Airtable step after List Orders to bring Printify order details into your base for each new tracking record.

Checking the Printify shop when a job is logged

A team member adds a job to Airtable, and Task History shows the Printify order list as it stood at that moment, ready for a follow-up step to use.

Testing the Printify connection

Before you build a larger flow, add a test record in Airtable and confirm FlowMattic can read orders from your Printify shop.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Airtable New Record

Fires when a new record is created in the Airtable base and table you connect. The record's fields are available to later steps.

  2. Step 2Action
    Printify List Orders

Retrieves a list of orders from your Printify shop. Connect your Printify account; the orders returned are available to any step you add after this one.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Airtable AccountAccount
  • Printify AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add an Iterator after List Orders and an Airtable step inside it if you want each returned Printify order written into your base.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger so the Printify look-up runs only for records of a certain type, such as ones marked as print jobs.
  • Run one test record through and open Task History to see the shape of the Printify response before you map anything from it.

Questions about this workflow

Does this copy Printify orders into Airtable?

Not as imported. It only fetches the order list. Add an Airtable step, often inside an Iterator, to write orders into your base.

Will Printify return only orders linked to the new Airtable record?

No step links them, so treat the result as a list from your shop. Check a test run to see which orders come back, then add your own matching with a Filter.

Does the new Airtable record get changed?

No. Neither step writes to Airtable. The record stays exactly as it was created.

Which Printify shop does the workflow read from?

The one tied to the Printify account you connect. If you run several shops, run a test and check Task History to confirm the orders come from the shop you expect.

It's very straightforward, has a lot integrations and they work well. It is one thing to 'integrate' new external software, but integrating it well, with lots of options is where FlowMattic shines.
