When a new submission is received in Fluent Forms, check if the email is valid with ZeroBounce, and create a new contact in FluentCRM

Check each Fluent Forms email address with ZeroBounce, then create or update the person as a FluentCRM contact. The ZeroBounce result is available to map, and every submission reaches FluentCRM unless you add a Filter.

The When a new submission is received in Fluent Forms, check if the email is valid with ZeroBounce, and create a new contact in FluentCRM workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 3 steps across Fluent Forms, ZeroBounce, FluentCRM
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Contact forms pick up typos and made-up addresses, and those end up in your CRM. Knowing which addresses are risky before you email them saves bounces. This workflow asks ZeroBounce about each address and then puts the person into FluentCRM.

When a visitor submits a Fluent Forms form, FlowMattic sends the email field to ZeroBounce with its Verify Single Email action. Its response becomes data you can map. The last step creates a contact in FluentCRM, or updates the existing contact with the same email address.

As shipped, nothing sits between the check and FluentCRM, so every submission becomes a contact whatever ZeroBounce says. The result is still there for you to use when you set up the FluentCRM step. To keep invalid addresses out entirely, add a Filter on the ZeroBounce result before the FluentCRM step.

Free consultation form

A coach collects bookings through Fluent Forms. ZeroBounce checks each address before the person lands in FluentCRM, and a Filter can keep bad ones out of the email sequence.

Newsletter form attracting bots

Spam sign-ups use invented addresses. With a Filter on the ZeroBounce result, only addresses that pass the check become FluentCRM contacts.

Workshop registrations

Attendees sign up through Fluent Forms and become FluentCRM contacts for reminder emails. Each run in Task History shows what ZeroBounce said about the address they gave.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Fluent Forms New Form Submission

Starts a run each time someone sends one of your Fluent Forms forms. The email field and every other answer are passed on to ZeroBounce and FluentCRM.

  2. Step 2Action
    ZeroBounce Verify Single Email

Sends the submitted address to ZeroBounce for verification. Connect ZeroBounce on import and point this step at the submitted email address. The response can then be used in the FluentCRM step or a Filter.

  3. Step 3Action
    FluentCRM Create or Update Contact

Creates a FluentCRM contact from the submission, or updates the contact that already has that email address. Map the form's email and name fields into it.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Fluent Forms PluginPlugin
  • ZeroBounce AccountAccount
  • FluentCRM PluginPlugin

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a Filter between ZeroBounce and FluentCRM that continues only when the status ZeroBounce returns equals the value for a valid address. A test submission shows you the wording ZeroBounce uses.
  • Use a Router instead of a Filter if you want valid addresses in FluentCRM and the rest logged somewhere else for review, such as a Google Sheet.
  • Submit the form once with your own address and once with a made-up one after import, so you see both kinds of ZeroBounce response before mapping.

Questions about this workflow

Does ZeroBounce stop invalid emails reaching FluentCRM?

Not as imported. Every submission continues to FluentCRM whatever the result. Add a Filter on the ZeroBounce response before the FluentCRM step to stop invalid ones.

What happens when the same address submits the form twice?

FluentCRM's Create or Update Contact action looks the person up by email. An existing contact is updated rather than duplicated.

Is a ZeroBounce account required for this Fluent Forms flow?

Yes. The verification runs through your own ZeroBounce account, which you connect when you import the workflow.

Does the check change what Fluent Forms stores?

No. Your form entries are stored in Fluent Forms exactly as before. The ZeroBounce check happens afterwards in FlowMattic and only affects what you map or filter before FluentCRM.
