When a submission is received in Contact Form 7, Create a new user in WordPress and send data with form submission and user id to Integrately

A Contact Form 7 submission creates a new WordPress user on your site, then the form answers and the new user’s ID are sent to Integrately, where your own automation can use both.

Contact Form 7 WordPress Integrately

3 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 1.5k sites Free to import

The When a submission is received in Contact Form 7, Create a new user in WordPress and send data with form submission and user id to Integrately workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 3 steps across Contact Form 7, WordPress, Integrately
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Some sites use a simple form to register people, for example a members' sign-up or a request for portal access. Contact Form 7 collects the answers, but it does not create accounts. And if other tools need to know about the new person, someone has to pass the details on. This workflow creates the account and hands everything to Integrately in one run.

When a visitor sends a Contact Form 7 form, FlowMattic picks up the submission. The WordPress step then creates a new user from the answers you map. Finally, the Submit Data step sends the form data and the ID of the user just created to Integrately, where an automation you build can take it further.

The account is created inside your own WordPress site. Only the last step sends data elsewhere. Task History shows each run, so you can check the user ID WordPress returned and what reached Integrately.

Membership sign-up form

A Contact Form 7 registration form creates the member's WordPress account, and Integrately passes the details to the other tools your Integrately automation connects.

Client portal access requests

A client fills in a request form, gets a WordPress user for the portal, and the user ID goes to Integrately so your other records can refer to that account.

Course or community registration

Registrants get an account on the site at once, and Integrately receives their answers plus the user ID for whatever follow-up you run there.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
Contact Form 7 New Form Submission

Fires when a visitor submits a Contact Form 7 form on your site. Every field from the form is available to the WordPress and Integrately steps.

  2. Step 2Action
    WordPress New User

Adds a WordPress account for the person who filled in the form. Map the form answers into it and run a test submission to confirm the account is set up the way you expect.

  3. Step 3Action
    Integrately Submit Data

Sends data to Integrately. Map in the form fields along with the user ID returned by the WordPress step, so your Integrately automation receives both.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Contact Form 7 PluginPlugin
  • Integrately AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Make the email field required in Contact Form 7 with an email* tag, so the WordPress step always has an address to create the account with.
  • Add a Filter between the Contact Form 7 trigger and the WordPress step that continues only when a terms or consent checkbox is ticked, so accounts are created only for people who agreed.
  • Send one test submission with a new email address after import, then check in Task History that WordPress returned a user ID before you map it into Integrately.

Questions about this workflow

What happens if the email is already used by a WordPress user?

No duplicate is made. The New User step finds the account that already uses that email and returns its user ID, so Integrately receives the existing user's ID with the form answers. Task History shows which ID was sent.

Do I need anything set up in Integrately first?

Yes. You need an Integrately account and an automation there ready to receive the data this workflow sends. Build that side before you turn the workflow on.

Will Contact Form 7 still send its usual notification email?

Yes. The workflow only listens for submissions and leaves the form's mail settings alone, so its emails go out as before.

Can I use this Contact Form 7 workflow without the Integrately step?

Yes. Delete the Submit Data step after import and the workflow simply creates WordPress users from each submission.

It's an exceptional product. Works great and extremely valuable. I saved thousands of dollard on Zapier, as Flowmattic makes me able to host the automation myself. And very deeply integrates with the products I need.

Ease of use and terrific support from the founder. Tons of integrations and regular updates. The Flowmattic custom app is great especially if you want to integrate apps that aren't available yet inside Flowmattic.
