When Beagle Security reports a new response, notify the security team via email

Each time Beagle Security sends FlowMattic a new response, the workflow emails your security team with the details you choose, using WordPress mail or your own SMTP account.

Beagle Security Email

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 1.6k sites Free to import

The When Beagle Security reports a new response, notify the security team via email workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Beagle Security, Email
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Security test results are only useful when someone reads them. If your team watches a shared mailbox rather than the Beagle Security dashboard, an email for each result puts it in front of the right people without anyone logging in to check.

The Beagle Security New Response trigger starts a run when a new response is received from Beagle Security and passes its data on. What that response contains depends on what Beagle Security sends, so run a test from your Beagle Security account after import and look at the trigger's output.

The Email step then sends a message. This is FlowMattic's Email module: it sends through WordPress's built-in mail function or an SMTP account you connect. The step ships empty. Enter your security team's address, write a subject, and map the response details you want in the body, such as the application name, the result and a link to the report if one is included.

Every response becomes one email, and the template doesn't sort them by severity. Task History shows each response that arrived and whether the email was sent.

Shared security inbox for a web team

An agency that tests client sites with Beagle Security sends each result to security@ so whoever is on duty can review it.

Result emails for a client contact

A freelancer adds the client's technical contact as a second recipient, so they see each Beagle Security result for their site.

Paper trail for compliance

A small SaaS team keeps every Beagle Security response as an email in an archived folder for its audit records.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Beagle Security New Response

Starts the workflow when a new response is received from Beagle Security. The response data is passed on; a test response from your account shows which fields come through.

  2. Step 2Action
    Email Send Email

Emails the response to your team using FlowMattic's Email module. The step ships empty: add the security team's address, a subject, and the Beagle Security details you want in the message.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Beagle Security AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Send from an SMTP account on your own domain, so the alerts come from an address your team recognises and can whitelist.
  • If the response includes a severity or status value, put a Filter between the Beagle Security trigger and the Email step on that value, so only the results you care about send an email. Set the value from a test run.
  • Start the subject with a fixed tag such as [Beagle] so your team can build an inbox rule for these emails.

Questions about this workflow

Which Beagle Security details can go into the email?

The values in the New Response data. The template leaves the email empty, so trigger a test response, then map from its output into the subject and body.

Can the alert go to several people on the security team?

Yes. Add each person's address as a recipient in the Email step, or send to one shared team address that forwards to everyone. A test run confirms who receives it.

Does this send through Gmail or Outlook?

It uses FlowMattic's Email module, which sends through WordPress mail or the SMTP server you set up. Enter your mail provider's SMTP details to send through that account.

Will I get an email for every Beagle Security response, even minor ones?

Yes, as imported. Each New Response runs the workflow once. Add a Filter between the trigger and the Email step to send only some of them.
