When Elementor Pro form is submitted, add a new member to Mailchimp list

When a visitor submits an Elementor Pro form, FlowMattic adds them to your Mailchimp list, or updates their details if the address is already a member.

Elementor Mailchimp

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 2.9k sites Free to import

The When Elementor Pro form is submitted, add a new member to Mailchimp list workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Elementor, Mailchimp
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Elementor Pro forms are often the first place a visitor leaves an email address, on a landing page, a pop-up or a footer. Getting those addresses into Mailchimp usually means an export and import every so often, and the list is always a little behind. This workflow adds each person as they submit.

The Elementor trigger fires on each new form submission and passes every field on to FlowMattic. The Mailchimp step runs Add New Member, which adds the person to the list or updates them if they already exist. Map the form's email field into it, plus any name fields you collect.

As imported, there is no Filter, so every submission is sent to Mailchimp. If one Elementor form handles both enquiries and sign-ups, add a condition on a consent checkbox. Task History shows the data passed to Mailchimp for each run and Mailchimp's reply.

Landing page for a webinar

An Elementor Pro registration form on a landing page adds each registrant to the Mailchimp audience used for reminder and replay emails.

Exit-intent pop-up with a discount

A shop shows an Elementor pop-up offering a code for signing up. Each address entered goes to Mailchimp, where the welcome email can deliver the code.

Footer newsletter form on a blog

A two-field form in the site footer collects name and email, and every sign-up joins the Mailchimp list without a weekly export.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Elementor New Form Submission

Picks up each new entry from your Elementor Pro forms. All of the form's fields are passed on for mapping.

  2. Step 2Action
    Mailchimp Add New Member

Puts the submitter on your Mailchimp list, updating the member instead when that address is already there. Map the Elementor email field and any name fields, then submit a test entry and check the audience.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Elementor PluginPlugin
  • Mailchimp AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when an acceptance field is checked, so people who didn't opt in stay off the Mailchimp list.
  • Mark the email field as required in the Elementor form so every submission arrives with an address for Mailchimp.
  • If several Elementor forms on the site should feed different lists, use a Router with a Mailchimp step on each route, keyed on a value in the test data that tells the forms apart.

Questions about this workflow

Do I need Elementor Pro for this Mailchimp workflow?

Yes. The form widget is part of Elementor Pro, so it must be installed on the same WordPress site as FlowMattic.

What if the Elementor form is filled in by an existing Mailchimp member?

Add New Member updates the existing member rather than adding them twice, so they stay on the list once with the newest details you mapped.

Can I keep using Elementor's own Mailchimp action as well?

You can, but both would send the same person to Mailchimp. Use one or the other on a form to keep the setup simple.

Are earlier Elementor form entries added to Mailchimp?

No. Only submissions made after the workflow is switched on are sent.
