When new form submission is received in ARForms, upload the files to Google Drive
When someone submits an ARForms form with a file, this workflow uploads that file to a Google Drive folder you choose, so attachments are stored in Drive and not only on your WordPress server.

What this workflow does
Forms that collect files, such as CVs, photos or signed documents, leave them in your WordPress uploads, where colleagues without a site login can't reach them. Downloading and re-uploading each one to a shared drive takes time. This workflow moves that file into Google Drive for you when the form is submitted.
The ARForms trigger fires on each new submission. Every field, including the file upload field, is passed to the next step. The Google Drive step uploads a file to the folder you select. You map the file from the form into it, and a test submission with an attachment shows you which value to use.
As imported there is one upload step, so it handles one file per submission. Forms with more than one upload field need an extra Drive step per field. A submission with no file still starts a run; the Drive step then has nothing to upload, and you can see how that step ended in Task History.
Job applications with CV uploads
Applicants attach a CV to an ARForms application form, and each file lands in a hiring folder in Google Drive that the hiring manager can open.
Photo submissions for a contest
Entrants upload a photo through the form, and the judges review all entries from one shared Drive folder.
Signed documents from clients
Clients return a signed agreement through an ARForms upload field, and a copy is stored in Drive with the rest of your client paperwork.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
ARForms New Form SubmissionFires when a new ARForms submission is received. All answers, including the file upload field, become data you can map into the Google Drive step.
Google Drive Upload a FilePuts the submitted file into the Drive folder you pick. Map the file from the ARForms upload field and connect your Google account on import.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- ARForms PluginPlugin
- Google Drive AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the file field is not empty, so submissions without an attachment stop before the Drive step.
- If your form has more than one upload field, add a Google Drive Upload a File step for each field and map a different file into each one.
- Add a Google Sheets step after the upload that logs the submitter's name next to the file details from Drive, so you can tell whose file is whose.
Questions about this workflow
Does the file stay on my WordPress site after it goes to Google Drive?
Yes. The workflow uploads a copy to Drive. ARForms keeps its own copy and entry as usual, so delete it there if you don't want to keep both.
Can it upload several files from one ARForms submission?
Not as imported. There is one upload step, which handles one file. Add more Google Drive steps, one per upload field, to store each file.
What happens if someone submits the form without a file?
The workflow still runs. The Google Drive step has no file to upload, so check Task History for how that run ended. A Filter on the file field avoids those runs.
Can I choose the Drive folder?
Yes. The step uploads to the folder you select when you set it up, so point it at a shared folder if your team needs access.
