What this workflow does
If your newsletter runs in Mailbluster and your sign-up form lives in FormCrafts, the two don't talk on their own. Copying entries across by hand is easy to forget, and late subscribers miss your next send. This workflow passes each submission over.
The FormCrafts starts things off: its New Submission Received trigger runs whenever one of your forms is filled in. FlowMattic then runs Mailbluster's Create a New Lead action. You map the email answer and any name fields into it, and Mailbluster adds the person as a lead.
There is no Filter, so every submission creates a lead. Mailbluster leads are the people you send campaigns to, so only connect forms where people agreed to hear from you. Task History records each run and the reply Mailbluster sent back.
Newsletter box on a FormCrafts landing page
Visitors sign up through the FormCrafts form, and each one becomes a Mailbluster lead in time for the next issue.
Product waitlist
A waitlist form adds each sign-up to Mailbluster, so you can email everyone at once when the product opens.
Giveaway entries with opt-in
Entrants who tick the newsletter box become Mailbluster leads once you add a Filter on that checkbox.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
FormCrafts New Submission ReceivedStarts a run for each new entry on the FormCrafts form you connect. Every answer in the entry is passed on to map into the Mailbluster lead.
Mailbluster Create a New LeadSends the submitter to Mailbluster as a new lead. Connect your Mailbluster account and map the FormCrafts email answer plus any name fields you collect.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- FormCrafts AccountAccount
- Mailbluster AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when your consent checkbox is ticked, so only people who opted in become Mailbluster leads.
- Send a test submission first so FlowMattic captures the FormCrafts field names, then map the email answer in the Mailbluster step.
- Make the email question required in FormCrafts so each run has an address to create the Mailbluster lead with.
Questions about this workflow
What if a FormCrafts respondent is already a lead in Mailbluster?
The template doesn't check first. Submit the same address twice in testing and read Mailbluster's response in Task History to see how it handles a repeat.
Do I need a Mailbluster account for this FormCrafts workflow?
Yes. The lead is created through your Mailbluster account, which you connect in the action step after import.
Will older FormCrafts entries be sent to Mailbluster?
No. The trigger picks up FormCrafts entries made after the workflow is switched on, not earlier ones.
