When new form submission is received in Formidable Forms, create a new user in WordPress
Every Formidable Forms submission creates a new WordPress user account from the answers in the form, so people who sign up through your form get a login on your site without you adding them by hand.

What this workflow does
A Formidable Forms form is a flexible way to collect sign-ups, but the entry alone does not give that person an account. If members, students or clients need to log in, someone has to open the Users screen and type their details in again. This workflow turns each submission into a WordPress user instead.
The Formidable Forms trigger runs when a visitor submits a form on your site and passes every answer to FlowMattic. The next step uses the New User action from the WordPress app to create an account. You decide which form answers go into the new user, such as the email address and a name.
Both plugins live on the same WordPress install as FlowMattic, so the submission never leaves your site. Nothing sits between the trigger and the account step, so every submission that reaches the workflow creates a user. If you only want accounts for some entries, add a Filter after the trigger. Task History keeps a record of each run, including any response WordPress returned when it could not create the user.
Member sign-up page
A Formidable registration form on your membership site collects name and email, and each entry becomes a WordPress account the new member can use to reach members-only pages.
Client portal access
Clients fill in an intake form after agreeing to work with you. Each intake creates the WordPress user they need to log in to your client area.
Course students on a WordPress LMS site
A Formidable enrolment form doubles as account creation, so every student who submits it has a WordPress user ready for your course plugin.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Formidable Forms New Form SubmissionRuns each time a visitor submits a Formidable Forms form on your site. All of the submitted answers become available to map into the WordPress step.
WordPress New UserCreates a new user on your WordPress site from the mapped form answers. Run a test submission after import to see which details the step accepts, then map the matching Formidable fields.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Formidable Forms PluginPlugin
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Make the email field required in your Formidable form so every submission reaches WordPress with an address to build the account from.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when a consent or terms checkbox is ticked, so accounts are created only for people who agreed.
- Add a second action after New User, such as an email step, to send the person a welcome message with a link to your login page.
Questions about this workflow
What happens if the Formidable Forms entry uses an email that already has a WordPress account?
WordPress does not allow two users with the same email address, so the New User step cannot create a second account. The run still finishes, and Task History shows the response from that step.
Do I need any service outside WordPress for this Formidable to WordPress workflow?
No. Formidable Forms, FlowMattic and the WordPress user step all run on your own site, so no third-party account is involved.
Will past Formidable Forms entries become WordPress users?
No. The trigger reacts to new submissions only, so entries made before you turn the workflow on are not converted into accounts.
How do I keep other Formidable forms from creating WordPress users?
Check after import whether the trigger lets you pick a single form. If it fires for all forms, add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the form ID or name matches your sign-up form, and confirm it with a test entry.
