When a new post is published in WordPress, send a message about it in Nifty PM
When a post goes live on your WordPress site, FlowMattic sends a message to Nifty PM with the details you map, so your project team hears about new content without checking the blog.

What this workflow does
Content teams often plan posts in Nifty PM but publish them in WordPress, and the two drift apart once a post goes out. This workflow sends a message to Nifty PM each time a post is published, so editors, designers and the social team know it is live.
The WordPress New Post trigger fires when a post is published for the first time. Later edits to that post don't fire it again, and pages don't fire it at all. The post's fields are passed on, including the title, the excerpt, the author as a user ID and the permalink.
The Nifty PM Send Message step ships unmapped. After import you connect your Nifty PM account, choose where the message goes, and write the text with the post title and permalink mapped in. Run a test by publishing a draft post and check the message in Nifty PM and in Task History.
Every published post sends one message, including custom post types unless you limit the trigger to one post type.
Tell the social team a post is live
A marketing team's Nifty PM project gets a message with the link each time a blog post is published, so the social media manager can share it.
Close the loop on content tasks
An agency writing posts for a client sees in Nifty PM when the article is published and can mark the content task done.
Keep editors informed
A publication with several writers posts a note in Nifty PM for every new article, so editors can check it once it is live.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
WordPress New PostRuns when one of your WordPress posts is published for the first time. Edits to live posts and new pages don't fire it. The post title, excerpt, permalink and other post fields become available to map.
Nifty PM Send MessageSends a new message in Nifty PM. Nothing is configured on import, so connect your account, choose where it goes and write the text with the post title and permalink from WordPress mapped in.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Nifty PM AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Map the permalink into the message rather than building a link yourself, since New Post sends the live URL in that field.
- Put a Filter between the WordPress trigger and the Nifty PM step that checks the post type, if custom post types on your site shouldn't send a message.
- Add the excerpt to the Nifty PM message so your team can see what the post is about before opening it.
Questions about this workflow
Does updating a published WordPress post send another Nifty PM message?
No. Only the first move to published starts a run, so later changes to a live post send nothing new to Nifty PM.
Where in Nifty PM does the message appear?
Wherever you send it when you set up the Send Message step. The template doesn't choose a destination, so pick it after import and check a test run.
Can the message show the author's name rather than an ID?
The trigger sends the author as a WordPress user ID. To show a name, add WordPress's Get User by ID step between the trigger and the Nifty PM step, and map the name it returns.
