Connect Motion Tools and Google Sheets

Motion Tools runs ride-hailing and delivery dispatch, sending events as bookings, drivers and packages change. FlowMattic writes the ones your operations team cares about into Google Sheets from your WordPress site, so dispatch managers have a booking log, driver shift records and a list of failed packages without exporting from the dashboard.

Motion Tools and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Log new Motion Tools hailing bookings

Each new booking gets a row with pickup, drop-off, customer and time, giving operations a daily booking log they can total by area or hour.

Set up: new bookings as rows

At the end, every new Motion Tools hailing booking is written to your Google Sheet as one row.

  1. Prepare the sheet

Add a header row such as Booking ID, Created, Customer, Pickup, Drop-off, Driver and Status.

  2. Connect Google Sheets

Under Connects, add a Google Sheets connection with an account that can edit the bookings spreadsheet.

  3. Start with Hailing Booking Created

Create a workflow with the Motion Tools Hailing Booking Created trigger, follow its setup instructions and create a test booking so FlowMattic captures the fields.

  4. Add New Row

Add Google Sheets Add New Row, map the booking fields to the columns, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Driver Locations Updated and Hailing Booking Driver Location Updated report positions as drivers move, which can mean a great many rows. Keep them out of the sheet unless you Filter them.
  • Each event is its own trigger. Build the booking log first, then add status, shift and failure workflows one at a time.
  • Keep the booking ID or driver ID in every row so later events can find the row with Lookup Row Data.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Motion Tools and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Customer trips stay on your server

Addresses and customer names pass from Motion Tools through your own WordPress site into the sheet, not through an outside automation account.

Busy shifts cost the same

Runs are unlimited, so a fleet logging every booking and status change on a Friday night pays the same as on a quiet Monday.

Reports in a tool everyone knows

Dispatchers, accountants and owners read bookings and shifts in a shared sheet, without each needing a dispatch dashboard login.

Common questions

Which Motion Tools events are worth logging in Google Sheets?

Most teams start with Hailing Booking Created and Hailing Booking Transition for bookings, Driver Online and Driver Offline for shifts, and Hailing Package Interaction Failed for delivery problems.

Can I work out driver hours from the sheet?

Yes. Add a row when a driver goes online and use Driver Offline to look up that row and write the end time. A formula in the sheet gives the hours.

Should I log driver location updates?

Usually not. Location events arrive often while drivers move, so the sheet grows quickly. If you need them, Filter to a few drivers or write them to a separate spreadsheet.

Can failed Shopify packages alert someone?

Yes. Start with Shopify Package Creation Failed, add the order to a review tab with Add New Row, then send an Email (SMTP) message to the operations inbox.
