Connect Ordergroove and Google Sheets

Ordergroove sends an event for almost every change in a subscription program: new subscribers, swaps, skipped orders, cancellations and placement failures. FlowMattic writes the ones you care about to Google Sheets, so retention, merchandising and operations teams each get a tab they can sort and chart without logging in to Ordergroove.

2. ActionAdd New Row

When Ordergroove fires Subscription Created, FlowMattic runs Add New Row in Google Sheets with the data from that event.

You build this in the FlowMattic workflow builder on your own site. See the setup steps

Ordergroove and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Log each new Ordergroove subscription in a sheet

Every subscription created becomes a row with product, frequency and customer, giving you a growth log that finance and marketing can both read.

Record cancellations for the retention team

Each canceled subscription is added to a churn tab with the product and date, so the team can call back recent cancellers and spot products people leave.

Update the subscription row when the delivery frequency changes

Find the subscription by its ID and overwrite the frequency column, so your sheet shows how often each customer now receives their order.

See which products subscribers swap to

Every SKU swap adds a row with the old and new product. Merchandisers can count swaps per product to see what customers prefer over time.

List rejected order placements for operations

Orders that Ordergroove will not retry go to a tab with the order and reason, so someone can contact the customer before the next shipment is missed.

Keep one row per out-of-stock item

Look the SKU up first and add it only once, with the date it was first seen. Buyers get a short restock list instead of one row per order.

Set up: a log of new subscriptions

When you are done, each subscription created in Ordergroove adds a row to your sheet.

  1. Prepare the tab

Add a header row such as Subscription ID, Customer, Product, Frequency and Created.

  2. Connect Google Sheets

Under Connects, add a Google account with edit rights to the spreadsheet.

  3. Choose Subscription Created

Create a workflow with the Ordergroove Subscription Created trigger and complete the setup shown in the trigger step.

  4. Create a test subscription

Subscribe to a product in your store, or use a test customer, so FlowMattic captures the event data.

  5. Write the row

Add Google Sheets Add New Row, map the subscription fields, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Subscriber Canceled fires when a customer cancels their last active subscription, while Subscription Canceled fires for each one. Pick the one that matches the question you are asking.
  • Ordergroove sends many order events. Start with one workflow per event you need rather than one large workflow, so each tab stays easy to read.
  • Store the subscription ID in its own column. The frequency, swap and cancel workflows all find rows by it.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Ordergroove and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Subscription data on your server

Customer and order details travel from Ordergroove through your WordPress site to your sheet, not through another company's automation account.

Busy renewal days cost the same

Runs are unlimited, so a day with thousands of placements and item events needs no bigger plan.

A tab for every team

Retention, operations and merchandising each get the events they need in a sheet they already use.

Common questions

How do I send Ordergroove subscriptions to Google Sheets?

Use the Ordergroove Subscription Created trigger and a Google Sheets Add New Row step. Map the subscription ID, customer, product and frequency to columns, test with a real subscription and switch the workflow on.

Can I track skipped orders?

Yes. Order Skip Order fires when an order will not be placed. Add a row for each, or look up the subscription and count skips in a column.

Can I see failed payments or placements?

Order Retryable Placement Failure, Order Generic Error and Order Reject each fire for a different kind of failure. Log them to one tab with a Type column, or to separate tabs.

Can the sheet change a subscription in Ordergroove?

No, these workflows only read Ordergroove events and write rows. Use the sheet to decide who to contact, then make the change in Ordergroove.
