Connect Muvi and Google Sheets

Muvi runs your streaming service, with its own content library and viewer accounts. FlowMattic writes Muvi content and user events into Google Sheets from your WordPress site, so programming teams have a library tracker that follows every edit and marketing has a subscriber list that stays in step with sign-ups and closed accounts.

1. TriggerContent Created
2. ActionAdd New Row

When Muvi fires Content Created, FlowMattic runs Add New Row in Google Sheets with the data from that event.

You build this in the FlowMattic workflow builder on your own site. See the setup steps

Muvi and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Log every new Muvi content item in a library tracker

Each title you add to Muvi gets a row with its name, type and date, a catalogue the programming team can plan releases from.

Update the library row when a title changes

Look up the content ID and write the new title, description or status, so the tracker matches what viewers see in the app.

Remove deleted titles from the tracker

When content is deleted in Muvi, find its row and delete it, so the sheet never lists a film or episode that is no longer on the service.

Build a subscriber list from new Muvi users

Every new viewer account is added with name, email and sign-up date, giving marketing a list to count, segment and compare by month.

Mark closed accounts instead of losing them

When a user is deleted, look up their row and write a closed date rather than removing it, so churn can be counted month by month.

Log new viewers and send a welcome email

After the row is written, an Email (SMTP) step sends the viewer a welcome message from your own mail server, pointing them to what to watch first.

Set up: new content as rows

At the end, every new content item in Muvi is written to your Google Sheet as one row.

  1. Prepare the sheet

Add a header row such as Content ID, Title, Type, Genre, Status and Added.

  2. Connect Google Sheets

In FlowMattic, open Connects and add a Google Sheets connection with an account that can edit the tracker.

  3. Start with Content Created

Create a workflow with the Muvi Content Created trigger, follow its setup instructions and add a test item in Muvi so FlowMattic captures the fields.

  4. Add New Row

Add Google Sheets Add New Row, map the content fields to the columns, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Created, updated and deleted are separate triggers for content and for users. Keep the content ID or user ID in every row so update and delete workflows can find it.
  • Deleting a row is permanent in the sheet. If you need history, use Update Row to mark the item removed instead of Delete Row.
  • The fields above are an example. Check what FlowMattic captures from your test item and map those.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Muvi and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Viewer data stays on your server

Subscriber names and emails pass from Muvi through your own WordPress site into the sheet, with no third-party automation account in between.

A big library costs the same

Runs are unlimited, so bulk uploads of episodes and a busy launch week of sign-ups need no bigger plan.

One sheet for content and marketing

Programming and marketing work from the same spreadsheet, with the library on one tab and viewers on another.

Common questions

Can the sheet follow edits and deletions in Muvi?

Yes. Content Updated and Content Deleted each start a workflow that finds the row by content ID. One uses Update Row, the other Delete Row.

Can I keep a list of Muvi subscribers in Google Sheets?

Yes. Start with User Created and add each viewer with Add New Row. Use User Updated to refresh their details and User Deleted to mark the account closed.

Can I count churn from the sheet?

Yes, if closed accounts are marked rather than removed. Write a closed date with User Deleted, then count rows by month in a pivot table.

Can a new viewer get a welcome email?

Yes. After the Add New Row step, add Email (SMTP) to send a welcome from your own mail server. A Delay first spaces it out from Muvi's own emails.
