What this workflow does
A recording session in Descript usually means work around it: booking a guest, preparing questions, editing and publishing afterwards. If that work is planned in ClickUp, someone has to remember to add the task. This workflow adds it for you when the session is set up.
The Descript Recording Session Created trigger fires when a recording session has been created. Its details, as your test run shows them, become data you can map. The ClickUp step then runs Create Task in the list you pick, with the task name and description built from the session values.
The task appears when the session is created, not when the recording happens. Updates to the session later, or a deleted session, don't change or remove the ClickUp task. Each run is recorded in Task History, where you can see the data the task was built from.
Podcast production board
A producer sets up a Descript session for next week's guest, and a ClickUp task for prep and editing is waiting in the podcast list.
Client video projects
A small studio creates a Descript session for each client recording. ClickUp shows every one as a task the editor can pick up.
Course lesson recordings
Each lesson session created in Descript becomes a ClickUp task, so the course team can track which lessons are recorded, edited and uploaded.

What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Descript AccountAccount
- ClickUp AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Create a test session in Descript after import so FlowMattic captures real session data before you map the ClickUp task fields.
- Put the session name at the start of the task name, so tasks for different recordings are easy to tell apart on the board.
- Build a second workflow on Descript's Video Rendered trigger if you also want a review task once the edit has rendered.
Questions about this workflow
Does the ClickUp task change if the Descript session is updated?
No. The workflow only acts when a session is created. Descript has a separate Recording Session Updated trigger if you want to build that.
Which ClickUp list does the Descript task go to?
The one you choose in the Create Task step. All recording-session tasks from this workflow go to that same spot until you edit the step.
What happens if a Descript session is deleted?
The ClickUp task stays. Deleting the session doesn't start this workflow, so you remove the task yourself.
