Create a response to typeform submissions with Claude AI and email the response to user

When someone completes your Typeform, Claude writes a reply based on their answers and FlowMattic’s Email step sends that reply to the address they gave, so every respondent hears back with a tailored message.

The Create a response to typeform submissions with Claude AI and email the response to user workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 3 steps across Typeform, Anthropic (Claude), Email
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

A form that collects questions, briefs or feedback usually leaves someone on your team writing a reply to each person. When the replies follow a pattern, Claude can draft them from the answers, and this workflow sends each one out without you copying text between tools.

The Typeform trigger fires on each new submission to the form you connect. FlowMattic passes the answers to Anthropic (Claude), whose Create a Completion action generates text from the prompt you write. Put your instructions in that prompt and map in the answers you want Claude to work from. The final step is FlowMattic's Email module, which sends through WordPress mail or your own SMTP account. Map the respondent's email answer as the recipient and Claude's text as the body.

Nobody reads the reply before it goes out. Each submission gets an email written by Claude, so test your prompt with a range of answers first. The form needs an email question, or there is no address to send to.

First answers to a coaching intake form

A coach's Typeform asks about goals and obstacles. Claude turns each person's answers into a short reply that reflects what they wrote and explains the next step.

Feedback acknowledgements that mention specifics

Customers rate a product and leave comments. Instead of a stock thank-you, each person gets a note that responds to the points they raised.

Answering FAQ-style questions from a form

Visitors ask questions through a Typeform on your site. Your prompt gives Claude your policies, and it drafts an answer that is emailed straight back.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Typeform New Form Submission

Runs each time someone completes the connected Typeform. Their answers, including any email question, can be mapped into the Claude and Email steps.

  2. Step 2Action
    Anthropic (Claude) Create a Completion

Sends a prompt you write to Claude, with the respondent's answers mapped in, and returns the generated reply. Connect your Anthropic account and set the instructions for tone and length.

  3. Step 3Action
    Email Send Email

Emails Claude's reply to the respondent using WordPress mail or your SMTP account. Map the Typeform email answer as the recipient, add a subject, and map the Claude output as the message.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Typeform AccountAccount
  • Anthropic (Claude) AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Want to read replies before they go out? Add a Human in the Loop step between Claude and Email, and set its timeout action to End Workflow so nothing is sent without approval.
  • Set the Typeform email question to required. Without an address, the Email step has no recipient for that run and Task History shows the error.
  • Tell Claude in the prompt what it must not do, such as quote prices or promise dates, and give it the facts it may use. The reply can only be as accurate as the prompt.

Questions about this workflow

Does anyone check the Claude reply before the respondent gets it?

Not as imported. The email goes out as soon as Claude returns text. Insert a Human in the Loop step before the Email step if a person should approve each reply.

Can the reply come from my Gmail address?

The Email step sends through WordPress mail or the SMTP account you set. Enter Gmail's SMTP details there, or swap the step for the Gmail app's Send Email action.

Do I need an Anthropic account to use Claude in this Typeform workflow?

Yes. The Create a Completion step runs through your own Anthropic (Claude) account, which you connect in FlowMattic after import. Run a test submission to check the output before going live.

What if a respondent submits the Typeform twice?

Each submission is a new run, so they get a second reply written from the new answers.

It's very straightforward, has a lot integrations and they work well. It is one thing to 'integrate' new external software, but integrating it well, with lots of options is where FlowMattic shines.

Works within WordPress, so it can easily access any inbuilt WP functions or custom functions and use them in your flow. It's easy to use and already has many useful integrations built.
