Email user when they receives the access to the product in DAP
When a member is given access to a product in Digital Access Pass (DAP), FlowMattic’s Email step sends them a short note saying their access is ready, through WordPress mail or your SMTP account.

What this workflow does
Members who buy or are granted a product in Digital Access Pass want to know they can start. A clear email at that moment saves them from guessing whether the purchase went through and cuts down on "where is my course" messages. This workflow sends that email whenever DAP grants product access.
The Digital Access Pass ( DAP ) trigger, User Receives Access to Product, starts a run each time a user is given access to a product. The user's and product's details from DAP are passed to the next step.
The Email step sends the message using WordPress's built-in mail or a custom SMTP account you set up. The template already has a subject, "You now have access", and a one-line body, "Your access to the product is ready." The recipient isn't set, so after import map the user's email address from the DAP trigger as the recipient.
The shipped text doesn't name the product or say where to log in. Add the product name from the trigger and a link to your members area before you turn it on. Then grant yourself access to a test product and check Task History to see the data DAP sent and whether the email went out.
Course access confirmation
An online course creator using DAP emails each student the moment their course opens to them, with the login link to the lesson area.
Manual access grants
A coach who adds clients to a coaching product by hand in DAP sends every one of them the same welcome email without writing it each time.
Upgrade to a premium tier
A membership site sends a note when an existing member gains access to its premium product, pointing them to the new content.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Digital Access Pass ( DAP ) User Receives Access to ProductStarts the workflow whenever a user receives access to a product in Digital Access Pass. Details about the user and the product are passed to the Email step.
- Email Send Email
Sends an email with the subject "You now have access" and the line "Your access to the product is ready." Map the user's email from the DAP trigger as the recipient, and edit the text to name the product.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Digital Access Pass ( DAP ) AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Replace the generic body with the product name mapped from the DAP trigger and a direct link to your login page, so the email tells members exactly what they can open.
- Set up your SMTP details in the Email step if WordPress mail on your host often lands in spam, so access emails reach the inbox.
- If only some products need this email, put a Filter between the DAP trigger and the Email step on the product name or ID from a test run.
- Check whether DAP already sends its own welcome email for the product, so members don't get two messages saying the same thing.
Questions about this workflow
Who receives the DAP access email as imported?
Nobody yet. The template sets the subject and body but leaves the recipient empty. Map the user's email address from the User Receives Access to Product trigger before you turn the workflow on.
Does the email say which DAP product the member can now open?
Not as shipped. The body is a single generic line. Edit it and map the product name from the trigger so members know what they now have.
Can I send the access email through Gmail or another provider?
Yes, if that provider offers SMTP. The Email step sends through WordPress mail or a custom SMTP account, so enter the provider's SMTP details in the step.
Does this run when a user gets access to a DAP tag instead of a product?
No. The trigger is for product access only. FlowMattic's DAP integration has a separate User Receives Access to Tag trigger if you also want emails for tags.
