What this workflow does
A link to a new article in Slack rarely gets clicked. A short summary tells colleagues what the post covers and whether they need to read it, share it or answer questions about it. This workflow writes that summary for you each time a post goes live.
The WordPress New Post trigger fires once, when a post is first published. Edits to a post that is already live don't start it again, and pages never do. FlowMattic passes the post's content to Straico, where the Generate Content action runs the prompt you write against the model you select. The text Straico returns then goes to Slack as a message in the channel you choose.
You control the summary through the prompt: its length, its tone, and whether it ends with the post link. Every run is logged in Task History, so you can see what Straico returned and what reached Slack.

- Set the trigger's post type to Posts if your site has custom post types you don't want summarised, such as products or events.
- For a private Slack channel, swap the last step for Slack's Send Private Channel Message action. To send the summary to one person, use Send Direct Message.
