What this workflow does

Some teams run client projects in ActiveCollab while another group, such as developers or a contractor, plans its work in ClickUp. When a task is added on one side, the other side only finds out if someone copies it across and tells people. This workflow does the copying and the telling for each new ActiveCollab task.

The ActiveCollab trigger, Task Created, fires when a task is created. Its details, such as the task name and project if a test run shows them, are passed on. The ClickUp step creates a new task in the list you pick, with those values mapped in. Then the Slack step posts to your project channel, and can include the ClickUp task details it returns.

This is a one-way copy of new tasks. Edits, moves and completions in ActiveCollab are separate triggers and don't update the ClickUp task, and changes in ClickUp don't flow back. Every ActiveCollab task in every project runs the workflow unless you add a Filter.

Add a Filter after the trigger on the ActiveCollab project a test run shows, so only tasks from the project your ClickUp team works on are copied.
Use a Router with one route per ActiveCollab project, each creating the ClickUp task in a different list and posting to that project's Slack channel.
If a test run shows the link to the new ClickUp task, put it in the Slack message so the team can open the task directly.

Questions about this workflow

Do edits to an ActiveCollab task update the ClickUp copy?

No. Only Task Created starts this workflow, and it creates a new ClickUp task each time. Later edits in ActiveCollab don't reach ClickUp.

Can the Slack message go to a private project channel?

Not with the Send Channel Message step. Use Slack's Send Private Channel Message action instead if your project channel is private.

Will duplicated ActiveCollab tasks be copied too?

ActiveCollab has a separate Task Duplicated trigger in FlowMattic. Check a test run to see whether a duplicate also counts as Task Created before relying on either behaviour.

Which ClickUp list do the ActiveCollab tasks go to?

The one you select in the Create Task step after import. Every copied task goes to that list unless you add a Router to send different projects to different lists.
