When a new Kustomer customer is created, add them to Airtable and post a welcome note in Discord
When a new customer is created in Kustomer, this workflow adds a record for them in Airtable and then posts a welcome note in a Discord channel, so your records and your team both hear about each new customer.

What this workflow does
A new customer in your help desk is worth two things: a record in the base where you track accounts, and a heads-up for the team. Doing both by hand means opening Airtable and Discord every time someone new appears. This workflow does both when Kustomer creates the customer.
The Kustomer trigger fires when a new customer is created. FlowMattic first creates a record in Airtable in the base and table you choose, filled with the customer values you map. It then posts a message to the Discord channel you pick, where your team sees the welcome note.
The Discord message goes to your team's channel, not to the customer. Both steps run for every new customer, and Task History shows each step's outcome for a given customer.
Account list for a small support team
A team keeps its customer list in Airtable. Each new Kustomer customer adds a row there, and a note in the team's Discord channel prompts someone to say hello.
Community-led startup
A startup whose staff work in Discord gets a message in its #new-customers channel for each new Kustomer customer, with the customer's details.
Onboarding tracker
Customer success tracks onboarding steps in an Airtable base. The record created for each new customer becomes the starting row for that work.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Kustomer Customer CreatedStarts a run each time Kustomer adds a new customer record. That customer's data is passed on to the Airtable and Discord steps.
Airtable Create RecordAdds a record for the new customer to the Airtable table you pick. Connect Airtable, then map the Kustomer customer values into your table's fields.
Discord Send Channel MessageSends the welcome note to whichever Discord channel your team uses. Write the note and insert the Kustomer values your team should see, such as the customer's name if Kustomer sends it.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Kustomer AccountAccount
- Airtable AccountAccount
- Discord AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Create a new customer in Kustomer as a test after import, so FlowMattic captures the values you can map into Airtable and the Discord message.
- Add the Airtable record ID to the Discord message, taken from the values the Airtable step returns, so teammates can find the new record from the channel.
- If only some new customers matter, add a Filter between the Kustomer trigger and the Airtable step on a value Kustomer sends, such as the email domain. Others then get no record and no Discord note.
Questions about this workflow
Does the Discord welcome note reach the new Kustomer customer?
No. It posts to a channel in your Discord server, so your team sees it. The customer isn't messaged by this workflow.
Does editing a Kustomer customer update the Airtable record?
No. The trigger is Customer Created, and no step updates Airtable records, so later changes in Kustomer stay out of the base.
Must my Airtable table for Kustomer customers exist before I turn this on?
Yes. The step adds records to a table that already exists, so create the fields you want to fill first and map the Kustomer values to them.
