What this workflow does

Stores that use Metabox often keep extra data on orders, products or customers: a source code, a fulfilment flag, a loyalty marker. Setting those values by hand after each order is slow and easy to forget. This workflow sets a meta value for you when an order comes in, but only after a check you define.

The WooCommerce trigger fires when a new order is created, passing the order data on. A Filter step, Continue If Condition Meet, then decides whether the run goes on. If its conditions are met, Metabox Set Meta Value writes a value to the object you point it at, which can be a post, a term or a user.

The Filter ships with no conditions. Before you turn the workflow on, set the condition the title describes, for example that the meta field you care about exists or is not empty. Until you set one, the empty Filter stops every run and no meta value is written. Once it is set, test it with one order that has the value and one that doesn't.

Flag orders that came from a campaign

When an order carries a campaign code in its meta, the workflow sets a Metabox field you use to report on campaign sales.

Mark customers after a qualifying order

Orders with a particular value in a meta field set a user meta flag on the customer's account, which other parts of your site can read.

If a test order doesn't show the meta field you want to check, add Metabox Get Meta Value before the Filter so the value is in the run's data.
Use Add Meta Value instead of Set Meta Value when the field should keep earlier values and gain a new one rather than replacing them.
To set the meta on the customer rather than the order, point Set Meta Value at the user and map the customer's user ID from the order data.
