When a new user registers in WordPress, create an affiliate in FluentAffiliate
Every time a new user registers on your WordPress site, this workflow creates an affiliate for them in FluentAffiliate, so members can join your referral program without filling in a second form.

What this workflow does
If your affiliate program is open to everyone who joins your site, asking members to register and then apply separately adds a second form to fill in. This workflow removes it: each new WordPress account becomes a FluentAffiliate affiliate straight away.
The WordPress New User trigger fires when a user is registered on your site. The new account's details, such as its user ID and email, are passed on. The FluentAffiliate step then uses Create Affiliate to add an affiliate in FluentAffiliate from those details.
Both plugins run on the same WordPress site as FlowMattic, so nothing leaves your server. There is no filter in the template, which means every new user becomes an affiliate, including customers created at checkout if your store creates accounts. Task History logs each run with FluentAffiliate's response.
Membership site with a built-in referral program
Every new member is set up as an affiliate when they register, so your welcome email can already invite them to start referring friends.
Course creators rewarding student referrals
Students who create an account to take your course are set up as affiliates and can share your course with friends from day one.
Community site growing by word of mouth
Each new community member is also an affiliate, so recommending your site to others is open to everyone who joins.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
WordPress New UserStarts a run each time someone gets a new account on your WordPress site. The account's details, including the user ID and email, become data you can map into the FluentAffiliate step.
FluentAffiliate Create AffiliateCreates a new affiliate in FluentAffiliate from the new user's details. Map the WordPress user data into the step, then register a test account to check the affiliate looks right.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- FluentAffiliate PluginPlugin
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Only want some users as affiliates? Add a Filter after the trigger on a user value, such as the role if your test run shows it, so only those accounts continue.
- Register a test user after import and look at the new affiliate in FluentAffiliate to confirm the status and details are what you expect.
- If your store creates accounts at checkout, decide whether buyers should become affiliates too, and use a Filter to keep them out if not.
Questions about this workflow
Does every new WordPress user become a FluentAffiliate affiliate?
Yes, as imported. The template has no conditions, so all new registrations run the Create Affiliate step. Add a Filter on a user value to limit it.
What about WordPress users who registered before I imported?
They are not affected. The trigger only fires for users registered after you turn the workflow on, so add earlier users as affiliates in FluentAffiliate by hand.
Are new FluentAffiliate affiliates approved automatically?
That depends on the step's setup and your FluentAffiliate settings. Run a test registration and check the new affiliate's status in FluentAffiliate before going live.
Does FluentAffiliate need to be on the same site?
Yes. FluentAffiliate is a WordPress plugin, and the step works with the copy installed on the same site as FlowMattic.
