What this workflow does
People abandon long forms halfway: a quote request missing the budget, an application without the last page. Paperform can save what they entered so far as a partial submission, but nobody acts on it unless it reaches your team's task list. This workflow turns each partial submission into a ClickUp follow-up task.
The Paperform Partial Submission trigger fires when there is a new partial submission on the form. It carries the answers given so far, which may or may not include an email or phone number, depending on how far the person got. Paperform decides when an entry counts as partial, so check your form's settings there.
The ClickUp Create Task step adds one task per partial submission. It ships unmapped. After import, connect ClickUp, choose where follow-up tasks go, and map the answers that exist into the task, such as the name and email in the title and the rest in the description.
Completed submissions use a different Paperform trigger, so they don't create tasks here. Start a test entry, leave it unfinished, and check Task History to see which answers arrived and the task ClickUp created.

- Add a Filter between the Paperform trigger and the ClickUp step that continues only when the email answer is not empty, so your team only gets tasks they can act on. The field is an example; use your own form's question.
- Set a due date in the Create Task step, if it offers one, so follow-ups happen while the person still remembers your form.
- Use a separate ClickUp list for abandoned forms, so these tasks stay apart from completed enquiries.
Questions about this workflow
Do completed Paperform submissions create ClickUp tasks too?
No. This template uses the Partial Submission trigger only. FlowMattic's Paperform integration has a New Form Submission trigger for finished entries if you want a second workflow.
What if the partial Paperform entry has no email address?
The task is still created, with whatever the person entered. Add a Filter on the email answer between the Paperform trigger and the ClickUp step if you only want tasks that include contact details.
Does the ClickUp task close if the person later finishes the form?
No. Nothing in this template updates or closes the task. Your team checks whether a full submission arrived before following up.
Do I need to turn on partial submissions in Paperform?
Paperform controls when partial entries are saved, so check your form's settings there and run a test before relying on the workflow.
