What this workflow does
Virtual summit sign-ups usually get a confirmation email, and that email competes with everything else in the inbox. A WhatsApp message on registration gives attendees a second confirmation in a chat they can find again on the day. This workflow sends it as each person registers.
The HeySummit trigger fires when a new attendee registers for an event. FlowMattic takes the attendee and event data and passes it to the WhatsApp Cloud API step, which sends a template message to the phone number you map. You pick one of your approved templates and fill its placeholders with values such as the attendee's name or the event title.

Do HeySummit attendees need to message my WhatsApp number first?
No. Template messages approved for your WhatsApp Business account can be delivered without an earlier conversation, which is why this step uses one.
What if a HeySummit attendee didn't give a phone number?
The WhatsApp step has nothing to send to, so that run shows an error on the step in Task History. HeySummit's own emails to the attendee are not affected.
Can I use a free-form WhatsApp text instead of a template?
WhatsApp only delivers free-form text within 24 hours of the person messaging your business number, so new registrants usually wouldn't receive it. Keep the template step.
Are attendees who registered before the workflow was on messaged?
No. Only registrations made while the workflow is active start a run.
