Connect ZeroBounce and Google Sheets

Lists kept in Google Sheets fill up with typos, closed mailboxes and throwaway addresses. FlowMattic sends each email in the sheet to ZeroBounce and writes the result back to the row, so you know which addresses are safe to mail before a campaign. It suits marketers, recruiters and sales teams who build lists in Sheets.

When Google Sheets fires New Spreadsheet Row, FlowMattic runs Verify Email in ZeroBounce with the data from that event.

ZeroBounce and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Verify each new row's email and write back the status

As soon as a row is added, ZeroBounce checks the address and Update Row fills a Status column with valid, invalid or catch-all.

Recheck an address when someone corrects it

When the Email column is edited, the new address is verified and the status cell is updated, so a fixed typo does not keep its old invalid flag.

Clean an existing list in one scheduled run

Get Rows reads the sheet, an Iterator sends each address to ZeroBounce and the result is written to its row, which tidies a list collected over years.

Copy only valid addresses to a send-ready tab

A Router writes valid addresses to a Ready tab and the rest to a Review tab, so whoever runs the campaign imports one clean tab.

Add the last activity date for each address

Get Activity Data shows when ZeroBounce last saw activity for the address. Writing it to the row helps you drop contacts that have gone quiet.

Set up: verify each new row

At the end, every email added to your sheet is checked by ZeroBounce and its status written next to it.

  1. Add the columns

In the sheet, keep the Email column and add empty Status and Sub-status columns for the results.

  2. Connect both apps

In FlowMattic, open Connects and add ZeroBounce with its API key and a Google account that can edit the sheet.

  3. Start with New Spreadsheet Row

Create a workflow, choose Google Sheets and New Spreadsheet Row, pick the sheet and add a test row.

  4. Verify and write back

Add ZeroBounce Verify Email with the Email column, then Google Sheets Update Row to fill Status and Sub-status. Test and switch on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • These workflows start from a Google Sheets change or a Schedule and call ZeroBounce for each address.
  • Use New Spreadsheet Row, not New Or Updated Spreadsheet Row, when the workflow writes back to the same sheet, or each write starts the workflow again.
  • Each check uses your ZeroBounce credits. Add a Filter that skips rows which already have a status before you run a big list.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

ZeroBounce and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Know before you send

Bad addresses are marked in the sheet before they reach your email tool and hurt your sender reputation.

The list stays in your sheet

FlowMattic runs on your own WordPress site and sends ZeroBounce only the address being checked.

Unlimited runs for long lists

FlowMattic has no per-task pricing, so a list of thousands costs only the ZeroBounce credits it uses.

Common questions

How do I verify emails in Google Sheets with ZeroBounce?

Start a workflow with New Spreadsheet Row, add ZeroBounce Verify Email with the email column, then Update Row to write the status back. For a list that is already in the sheet, use Schedule, Get Rows and an Iterator once.

What results does ZeroBounce return?

A status such as valid, invalid, catch-all or do not mail, with a sub-status that explains why. Map both to columns so you can filter the sheet.

Will it check the same address twice?

Only if your workflow sends it twice. Use a Filter that continues only when the Status column is empty, so rows that were already checked are skipped.

Can I check emails from forms instead of a sheet?

Yes. Any trigger can start the workflow, such as a form submission, then Verify Email runs before the row is written with Add New Row.
