Connect Alchemer and Google Sheets

Alchemer is where the survey runs, and Google Sheets is where most teams read the results. FlowMattic writes each response as a row, sorts it by score, marks who has answered on your invite list and tells you when a quota is full. For research, customer success and HR teams who report from a shared sheet.

Alchemer and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Save each Alchemer response as a Google Sheets row

Every completed survey lands in the sheet with the answers in their own columns, so charts and pivot tables stay current without exporting a file.

Split promoters, passives and detractors into separate tabs

A Router reads the 0 to 10 rating. Detractors land on the tab your customer success team works from, promoters on the one marketing uses for review requests.

Mark who has answered on your invite list

Look up the respondent's email on the distribution sheet and fill in the response date on their row, so reminders go only to people who have not replied.

Get an email when a survey quota is reached

After each row is added, Get Row Count checks the total. A Filter lets the run continue only at your target, and an email tells the project lead to close the survey.

Tag open-text comments with a theme before they are saved

An AI Agent reads the comment box and adds a theme such as pricing, support or onboarding in its own column, so a long list of comments can be counted by topic.

A Filter keeps only respondents who answered yes to being contacted, and their details go to a follow-up sheet, apart from anonymous answers.

Set up: each response as a row

Once finished, every completed response to the Alchemer survey you pick is written to your sheet as a new row.

  1. Prepare the sheet

Add a header row with one column per question you want to keep, plus columns for the response ID and date.

  2. Connect both apps

Under Connects, add Alchemer with an account that can see the survey and Google Sheets with an account that can edit the spreadsheet.

  3. Start with New Survey Response

Create a workflow with the Alchemer New Survey Response trigger, choose the survey and complete a test response so its answers are captured.

  4. Add New Row

Add a Google Sheets Add New Row step, map each answer to its column, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Each workflow copies Alchemer responses into the sheet, so a change in the sheet does not update the response in Alchemer.
  • Columns depend on your survey questions, so the mapping above is only an example. Add new questions to the sheet's header row before mapping them.
  • Anonymous employee surveys stay anonymous only if you leave identifying fields out of the Add New Row mapping.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Alchemer and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Responses pass through your server

Survey answers go from Alchemer to the sheet through your own WordPress site, which helps when feedback data must stay under your control.

Large samples cost nothing extra

Runs are unlimited, so a survey with ten thousand responses writes every row on the same plan as a ten-person pilot.

The sheet tells you what to do next

Score tabs, quota alerts and an updated invite list turn the sheet from a dump of answers into the place the team works from.

Common questions

How do I send Alchemer survey responses to Google Sheets?

Create a workflow with the Alchemer New Survey Response trigger for your survey, add Google Sheets Add New Row and map each answer to a column. Test it with one response and switch it on.

Will partial responses be written to the sheet?

The trigger fires when a survey is submitted. Check a test response in the trigger data to see what your survey sends, and add a Filter on a required question if you only want complete answers.

Can each survey go to its own sheet?

Yes. Build one workflow per survey, or start a single workflow and add a Router that checks the survey name and writes to the right spreadsheet or tab.

Can I stop the survey when the sheet shows enough responses?

FlowMattic cannot close the survey in Alchemer, but it can tell you. Count rows with Get Row Count after each response and send an email or message when the total reaches your quota.

Can I keep scores as numbers for charts?

Yes. If a rating arrives as text, run it through Number Formatter before Add New Row so Google Sheets treats the column as numbers in charts and averages.
