Connect Formspree and Google Sheets

Formspree collects submissions from static sites and hand-coded HTML forms without a backend. Google Sheets gives those entries a home that non-developers can read and sort. FlowMattic writes each Formspree submission into a sheet from your WordPress site, so a developer can ship a form on any site and the client still gets a spreadsheet of entries.

When Formspree fires New Submission, FlowMattic runs Add New Row in Google Sheets with the data from that event.

Formspree and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Save every Formspree submission as a row

Contact, waitlist and quote forms on a static site all end up as rows the client can open, sort and share, without logging in to Formspree.

Route each form endpoint to its own tab

One Formspree account often serves several sites or forms. A Router uses the form's name or ID to write each submission to the right tab.

Skip submissions with an empty message

A Filter stops entries where the message or email field is blank, so the sheet only holds enquiries a person actually wrote.

Keep one row per waitlist signup

For a launch waitlist, look up the email before writing. Someone who signs up twice updates their own row, so the count of people stays accurate.

Join checkbox answers into a single cell

Custom HTML forms can send several values for one field. Text Formatter joins them into one comma-separated cell, so each submission stays on one row.

Label each enquiry by topic before saving it

An AI Agent step reads the message and adds a short label such as sales, support or job, so the client can filter the sheet by what people asked.

Set up: submissions as rows

At the end, each submission to your Formspree form is written as a new row in your sheet.

  1. Match columns to field names

Create one header per name attribute in your HTML form, for example name, email, message, plus a Received column.

  2. Connect both services

In Connects, add your Formspree account and a Google account that can edit the spreadsheet.

  3. Send a test entry

Start a workflow on the Formspree New Submission trigger and submit the live form once so FlowMattic captures its fields.

  4. Map and enable

Add Google Sheets Add New Row, map each field to its column, test it and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Fields arrive under the name attributes in your HTML, so the mapping above is an example. Renaming an input later means remapping that column.
  • Formspree applies its own spam filtering. The Filter example is for entries that pass but are still empty or unusable.
  • Add the header row before testing, so every field has a column to map to.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Formspree and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Clients get a sheet, not a login

Developers can build static forms and hand the client a Google Sheet of entries, which is usually what they ask for.

Entries pass through your server

Submissions go from Formspree to the sheet through your own WordPress site rather than an extra automation account.

Any number of forms and entries

Runs are unlimited, so one FlowMattic install can log every form across every client site at no extra cost.

Common questions

Can I send Formspree submissions to Google Sheets without code?

Yes. Your HTML form keeps posting to Formspree as it does now. In FlowMattic you pick the New Submission trigger and map the fields into an Add New Row step.

I run several sites on one Formspree account. Can each have its own sheet?

Yes. Add a Router after the trigger with a path per form, each running Add New Row on that site's spreadsheet.

What if I add a field to my form later?

Add a column to the sheet, send a new test submission so FlowMattic sees the field, and map it in the Add New Row step.

Can I keep file uploads from the form?

If your Formspree plan accepts uploads, the submission carries a link to the file. Map that link into a column so the file can be opened from the sheet.
