Connect Onfleet and Google Sheets

Onfleet dispatches your drivers and tracks every delivery task. FlowMattic writes Onfleet task and driver events into Google Sheets from your WordPress site, so dispatchers, store managers and customer service can see which deliveries were created, who took them, which were completed and which failed, in a sheet they can sort by day.

1. TriggerNew Task Created
2. ActionAdd New Row

When Onfleet fires New Task Created, FlowMattic runs Add New Row in Google Sheets with the data from that event.

You build this in the FlowMattic workflow builder on your own site. See the setup steps

Onfleet and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Log every new Onfleet task

Each delivery task becomes a row with recipient, address, time window and task ID, the base list that later events update.

Write the driver's name when a task is assigned

Look up the task ID and fill in the assigned driver or team, so store staff can tell a customer who is bringing the order.

Mark each task completed with the time

When the driver completes the delivery, the row gets a completion time from Date/Time Formatter, so daily delivery counts come straight from the sheet.

Keep a failed deliveries list for customer service

Every failed task is added to a Failed tab with the recipient and notes, so customer service can rebook the delivery and contact the customer.

Log delayed tasks and warn the dispatcher

When a task's delay passes your threshold, it is written to a Delays tab and an email goes to the dispatcher on shift.

Record recipients who opt out of SMS

Opt-outs are added to a list so the store knows not to text that customer from other tools either.

Set up: new tasks as rows

At the end, every new Onfleet task is written to your Google Sheet as one row.

  1. Prepare the sheet

Add a header row such as Task ID, Created, Recipient, Phone, Address, Window, Driver and Completed.

  2. Connect Google Sheets

Under Connects, add a Google Sheets connection with an account that can edit the delivery sheet.

  3. Start with New Task Created

Create a workflow with the Onfleet New Task Created trigger, follow its setup instructions and create a test task so FlowMattic captures the fields.

  4. Add New Row

Add Google Sheets Add New Row, map the task fields to the columns, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Each Onfleet event is its own trigger. Build the task log first, then add the assigned, completed and failed workflows that update it.
  • Keep the Onfleet task ID in every row. Without it, Lookup Row Data cannot find the task a later event belongs to.
  • Driver ETA and Driver Arriving, or Closer Than can fire often on busy routes. Use them for alerts rather than writing each one to the sheet.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Onfleet and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Recipient details stay on your server

Customer names, phones and addresses pass from Onfleet through your own WordPress site into the sheet, not through an outside automation account.

Peak days cost the same

Runs are unlimited, so a holiday week with hundreds of deliveries and every status change needs no bigger plan.

Answers for the shop counter

Store staff can check a sheet to tell a customer who has their order and when it was delivered, without a dispatcher login.

Common questions

Can Google Sheets show the status of each Onfleet delivery?

Yes. Add each task with New Task Created, then use Task Assigned, Task Completed and Task Failed workflows that find the row by task ID and update it.

Can I count deliveries per driver?

Yes. Write the driver's name on the row when the task is assigned and the time when it completes, then use a pivot table to count completed tasks per driver.

Can failed deliveries alert customer service?

Yes. Start with Task Failed, add the task to a Failed tab with Add New Row, and add an Email (SMTP) step that tells the customer service inbox.

Should I log every driver location event?

Usually not. Driver ETA and arrival events can arrive often while a driver is on the road. Keep the sheet for task events and use those for alerts.
