Connect Marketo and Google Sheets

Marketo nurtures and scores your leads, but sales partners, agencies and event teams often need them in a plain spreadsheet. FlowMattic receives Marketo webhooks on your WordPress site and writes each lead or campaign event into Google Sheets, so the people who follow up see the right leads without a Marketo seat.

When Marketo fires Setup Webhooks, FlowMattic runs Add New Row in Google Sheets with the data from that event.

You build this in the FlowMattic workflow builder on your own site. See the setup steps

Marketo and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Add new Marketo leads to a Google Sheet

A Marketo webhook sends each new lead to FlowMattic, which adds it as a row. Sales development reps get a working list without exporting smart lists.

Keep one row per lead and update it

Look up the lead's email first. A Router updates the row when a known lead comes through again and adds a row only for a new person, so the list stays deduplicated.

Hand qualified leads to a partner's sheet

Call the webhook from the campaign that marks leads as qualified, then a Filter on region sends only that partner's leads to the spreadsheet you share with them.

Split event registrations by session

When one webhook serves several events, a Router reads the program or session name and writes each registrant to that session's tab for the event team.

Clean lead fields before they reach the sheet

Text Formatter trims spaces and fixes capitalisation of names and company names, so a sheet used for a mail merge or call list looks tidy.

Set up: new leads as rows

At the end, each lead Marketo sends through your webhook is added to your Google Sheet as one row.

  1. Prepare the sheet

Add a header row such as Email, First name, Last name, Company, Title, Lead source and Date.

  2. Connect Google Sheets

Under Connects, add a Google Sheets connection with an account that can edit the spreadsheet.

  3. Start with Setup Webhooks

Create a workflow with the Marketo Setup Webhooks trigger, add its URL as a webhook in Marketo with the lead fields you want, and send a test lead.

  4. Add New Row

Add Google Sheets Add New Row, map the captured fields to your columns, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • The fields FlowMattic receives are the ones you put in the Marketo webhook, so the mapping above is an example. Add a field to the webhook before you try to map it.
  • Marketo sends the webhook only from the campaigns that call it. A lead created outside those campaigns does not reach the sheet.
  • Repeat sends for the same lead add duplicate rows unless you look up the email with Lookup Row Data first.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Marketo and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Lead data passes through your server

Leads travel from Marketo to your own WordPress site and on to the sheet, with no outside automation account keeping a copy.

Large programs, same cost

Runs are unlimited, so a webinar program sending thousands of registrants needs no bigger plan than a small nurture campaign.

Leads for people outside Marketo

Partners, agencies and field sales read a shared sheet, so you can hand off leads without buying extra Marketo seats.

Common questions

How does Marketo send leads to Google Sheets?

Through a webhook. The Marketo Setup Webhooks trigger gives you a URL. Add it as a webhook in Marketo, call it from a campaign, and FlowMattic writes each call to the sheet with Add New Row.

Which Marketo fields can I log?

Any field you include in the webhook's payload. Add tokens for the lead fields you need, send a test, and they appear in FlowMattic ready to map to columns.

Can I stop duplicate leads in the sheet?

Yes. Search the email column with Lookup Row Data, then a Router runs Update Row when the lead exists and Add New Row when it is new.

Can partners only see their own leads?

Yes. Give each partner a separate spreadsheet and use a Filter or Router on region, product or owner so each lead is written only to the right one.
