Create a ClickUp task when a new Lokalise task is created

When a translation or review task is created in Lokalise, FlowMattic creates a matching task in ClickUp, so localization work sits in the same place as the rest of your team’s tasks.

The Create a ClickUp task when a new Lokalise task is created workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Lokalise, ClickUp
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Translators and reviewers work in Lokalise, while product and project managers plan in ClickUp. Lokalise tasks are easy to miss when the rest of the work lives elsewhere. This workflow copies each new Lokalise task into a ClickUp list.

The Lokalise trigger, Task Created, fires when a new translation or review task is created in a project. FlowMattic passes the task data to ClickUp, where Create Task adds a task to the list you choose. You build the name and description from the Lokalise data, such as the task title and project.

The copy is one-way and happens once, when the task is created. Closing the task in Lokalise doesn't close it in ClickUp. Lokalise has separate triggers, such as Task Closed, that you can use in a second workflow.

Release planning with translations

A product manager sees each Lokalise translation task in the ClickUp list for the next release and can plan the launch around it.

Agency managing client localisation

An agency mirrors every Lokalise review task into the client's ClickUp space, so account managers can see what's in progress.

Assigning in-house reviewers

Review tasks created in Lokalise land in ClickUp, where the team lead assigns them to reviewers alongside their other work.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Lokalise Task Created

Fires when a new translation or review task is created in a Lokalise project. The task details are passed on for the ClickUp step.

  2. Step 2Action
    ClickUp Create Task

Adds a task to the ClickUp list you choose. Build the task name and description from the Lokalise task data, such as its title, project and languages.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Lokalise AccountAccount
  • ClickUp AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Put the Lokalise task title and project name in the ClickUp task name, so people can tell translation tasks apart at a glance.
  • If only one Lokalise project should reach ClickUp, add a Filter after the trigger that continues when the project matches the one you copy from a test run.
  • To follow up when the work is done, build a second workflow on Lokalise's Task Closed trigger that posts a note or updates your tracking elsewhere.

Questions about this workflow

Does closing a task in Lokalise close the ClickUp task?

No. This workflow only reacts to new Lokalise tasks. Use Lokalise's Task Closed trigger in another workflow if you want to act on finished work.

Which Lokalise tasks create ClickUp tasks?

New translation and review tasks in the projects connected to the trigger, as imported. Add a Filter to narrow it down by project or task type.

Can I choose the ClickUp list for the Lokalise tasks?

Yes. You pick the ClickUp list in the Create Task step after import, so all Lokalise tasks land in that list.

The software works really well, and the team is adding integrations constantly, so I'm positive it eventually will catch up with Zapier. The flows are very easy to create and if you have any doubt, the team will give you great support.
