Connect TradingView and Google Sheets

Traders who test strategies want a record of every alert: what fired, on which symbol, at what price and when. FlowMattic receives each TradingView alert on your WordPress site and writes it into Google Sheets, where you can sort signals by ticker, review a strategy's history and keep a one-line board of the latest call per symbol.

When TradingView fires New Alert, FlowMattic runs Add New Row in Google Sheets with the data from that event.

TradingView and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Add a row to Google Sheets for every TradingView alert

Each alert becomes one row with the time, symbol, price and your message, building a journal of signals you can review or chart later.

Read a JSON alert message into separate columns

Write the alert message as JSON with ticker, side, price and interval. JSON Parser splits it so each value fills its own column instead of one long text cell.

Give each strategy its own tab in the journal

A Router reads the strategy name in the alert and writes to a matching tab, so backtest notes and live signals for each system stay apart.

Keep one row per ticker with the latest signal

Lookup Row Data finds the symbol on a watchlist tab and Update Row overwrites its last signal, price and time, giving you a board of where each market stands.

Log only alerts on your watchlist symbols

If one alert setup covers many markets, a Filter passes only the tickers you actively trade, so the sheet holds signals you care about.

Stamp each alert with your local time and session

Date/Time Formatter converts the alert time to your timezone, and a Lookup Table labels it Asia, London or New York session before the row is added, which helps when you review timing.

Set up: a row for every alert

When you finish, each TradingView alert you point at FlowMattic adds one row to your trading journal sheet.

  1. Prepare the sheet

Create a spreadsheet with a header row such as Time, Ticker, Price, Interval and Message.

  2. Connect Google Sheets

Add a Google Sheets connection under Connects with an account that can edit the spreadsheet.

  3. Start with New Alert

Create a workflow with the TradingView New Alert trigger, copy the address FlowMattic shows into the alert's settings in TradingView and let one alert fire to capture its data.

  4. Write the alert message

In TradingView, use placeholders such as the ticker, close price and interval in the alert message so they arrive as data you can map.

  5. Map Add New Row

Add Add New Row, pick the spreadsheet and tab, map the alert fields to columns, test it and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • TradingView has one trigger and no actions here, so sheets cannot place or change alerts. Every workflow starts from a TradingView alert.
  • The data you can map is whatever you put in the alert message. A message written as JSON is the easiest to split into columns.
  • Writing to a sheet that another workflow watches with a Google Sheets trigger can start that workflow too. Keep the journal tab separate if you use both.
  • A sheet is a record, not a trading system. Check your broker for fills and positions rather than relying on the logged alert price.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

TradingView and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

A journal that builds itself

Every signal is logged with the same columns, so reviewing a strategy is a matter of filtering a sheet.

Busy markets cost the same

Runs are unlimited, so dozens of alerts on a volatile day need no bigger plan.

Alerts reach your own server

FlowMattic receives TradingView alerts on your WordPress site and writes to Google from there, without a separate hosted relay.

Common questions

How do I send TradingView alerts to Google Sheets?

Create a FlowMattic workflow with the TradingView New Alert trigger, paste the address it gives you into your alert in TradingView, and add a Google Sheets Add New Row step. Each alert then adds a row with the fields you map.

Which TradingView values can go into the sheet?

Anything you include in the alert message, such as ticker, exchange, close price, volume, interval or a strategy name. Put them in the message with TradingView's placeholders and map each one to a column.

Can buy and sell signals go to different tabs?

Yes. Use a Router on the side or action field in your message, with one Add New Row step per path, each writing to its own tab.

Can I count how many alerts fire each day?

Yes. Get Row Count on the journal tab tells you how many rows exist, or keep a date column and use a sheet formula to count rows per day.

Can a change in the sheet create a TradingView alert?

No. TradingView has no actions in FlowMattic, so the sheet can only receive alerts. Alerts are created and edited in TradingView.
