Connect WP Tables and Google Sheets

WP Tables keeps data inside your WordPress database; Google Sheets is where outside people often want to see it. FlowMattic keeps the two in step: new, changed and deleted table rows are mirrored to a sheet, rows added in a sheet become table records, and a weekly snapshot of the whole table lands in a fresh tab.

When WP Tables fires New Record, FlowMattic runs Add New Row in Google Sheets with the data from that event.

WP Tables and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Copy each new WP Tables row to a Google Sheet

Accountants, clients or partners who will never log in to WordPress can still read the data. Each new record is added to the sheet with its row ID in the first column.

Update the sheet row when the table row changes

Lookup Row Data finds the sheet row by the WP Tables row ID and Update Row writes the new values, so the shared copy never falls behind the table on your site.

Remove the sheet row when a record is deleted

When a record is deleted from the table, its copy is found by row ID and deleted from the sheet too, so the two lists keep the same count.

Bring rows added in a sheet into a WordPress table

Suppliers or volunteers fill in a shared sheet. Each new row becomes a WP Tables record, ready to show on your site or feed other workflows without copying and pasting.

Apply price changes from a sheet to the site table

Whoever owns pricing edits one column in the sheet. Find Record looks up the product in WP Tables and Update Cell changes only the price, leaving every other column alone.

Send a chosen row to the sheet with the table button

Not every row needs sharing. Clicking the trigger button on a row adds it to the sheet on demand, for example when an order is ready for the accountant.

Save a weekly snapshot of the whole table

Every Friday Get Rows reads the table, a new sheet is made for the week and Import CSV or JSON to Existing Sheet writes the rows in one step, which gives you a dated history.

Set up: new table rows to a sheet

At the end, every record added to your WP Table is copied to a Google Sheet as a new row.

  1. Match the columns

Give the sheet a header row with Row ID first, then the same columns as your WP Table.

  2. Connect Google Sheets

Under Connects, add Google Sheets with an account that can edit the spreadsheet. WP Tables lives in your WordPress database and needs no connection.

  3. Trigger on New Record

Create a workflow with WP Tables New Record, pick the table and add a test row so FlowMattic captures its columns.

  4. Add the row

Add Google Sheets Add New Row, choose the spreadsheet and tab, map the row ID and each column, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Keep the WP Tables row ID in the sheet. The update and delete workflows search that column with Lookup Row Data to find the matching row.
  • Syncing the same columns both ways makes each edit echo back. Let each column have one owner, the table or the sheet, and filter out the other direction.
  • Find Multiple Records returns up to 1,000 records per run. For bigger tables, read them in pages with Get Rows and its offset.
  • Column names depend on your table and sheet, so the mapping above is an example.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

WP Tables and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Share data without wp-admin logins

People outside your team read and edit a Google Sheet, while the working copy stays in your own WordPress database.

Each side keeps what it is good at

WP Tables runs workflows, buttons and front-end views on your site; the sheet handles formulas and sharing with outside people.

Sync as often as rows change

FlowMattic has unlimited runs on every plan, so a table edited all day costs nothing extra to mirror.

Common questions

Can WP Tables sync with Google Sheets automatically?

Yes. Use the New Record, Updated Record and Deleted Record triggers with Add New Row, Update Row and Delete Row. Keep the row ID in the sheet so updates and deletes find the right row.

Can rows go from Google Sheets into WP Tables?

Yes. Trigger on New Spreadsheet Row and add a WP Tables New Record step, mapping each column. Update Specific Column Value with Find Record and Update Cell handles later edits.

How do I copy a table that already has data?

Run a workflow once with Get Rows and Import CSV or JSON to Existing Sheet. For very large tables, run Get Rows in pages using its limit and offset.

Why use WP Tables if I already have Google Sheets?

WP Tables keeps the data on your WordPress site, where workflows, approve and reject buttons and front-end tables can use it. The sheet becomes the copy you share, not the place the data lives.

Will a two-way sync loop forever?

It can if both directions write the same columns. Give each column one owner, or add a Filter that stops when the incoming value already matches.
