Good to know

A file link only opens for people who already have access. Add Share File with Anyone before posting if the channel includes members outside your Google account, and only for files meant to be public.
New File watches the whole Drive, while New File in Folder watches one folder. For announcements, use the folder trigger so private uploads are not posted.
The Discord bot only sees channels it has been given access to. If a channel or message is missing in the trigger, check the bot's role in the server settings.

Common questions

Can Discord attachments be saved to Google Drive automatically?

Yes. Start with New Message Posted to Channel, add a Filter that passes only messages with an attachment, then use Upload a File with the attachment's URL and the Drive folder you want.

Can I choose which Drive folder posts to which channel?

Yes. Build one workflow per folder with New File in Folder, or use a Router that checks the parent folder and sends each file to its own channel.

Will members be able to open the Drive links?

Only if the file is shared with them. Use Share File for named people, or Share File with Anyone when the file is meant for the whole server.

Can a forum thread be turned into a Google Doc?

Create File From Text writes the post's title and content into a new file in the folder you pick. Replies can be kept the same way with a second workflow on New Forum Message.

Does the Discord bot need special permissions?

It needs to view and post in the channels you use. Creating channels needs the manage channels permission, and reading message text needs the bot's message content access in Discord.
