Connect Gravity Forms and Google Drive

Gravity Forms collects CVs, signed contracts, photos and briefs; on WordPress those uploads pile up in one folder. FlowMattic files each entry in Google Drive instead: a folder per client or applicant, the uploaded files inside it, a text copy of the answers alongside, and the folder shared with the right people. It suits agencies, recruiters and service firms that work from Drive.

Gravity Forms and Google Drive workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Save each uploaded file to a Google Drive folder

The file from the upload field goes straight to a chosen Drive folder, where your team already looks for client material.

Make a folder for every applicant and file their CV

Recruiters get one sub folder per candidate, named from the applicant's name and role, with their CV and cover letter inside.

Store the entry's answers as a document

Create File From Text writes the answers into a file next to the uploads, so the whole submission can be read without logging in to WordPress.

Turn the entry into a PDF in Drive

Write the answers to a text file, then export it to PDF, giving you a fixed copy of an application or order form for your records.

Create a client folder and share it with the client

An onboarding form creates the client's Drive folder and shares it with the email they entered, so they have somewhere to send material from day one.

Upload every file from a multi-file field

Multi-file upload fields hold a list of files. Iterator goes through them one by one, so every photo or document reaches Drive.

Reuse the client's folder on later submissions

Find Folder looks for a folder with the client's name. A Router uploads into it when found and creates the folder first when it is a new client.

Set up: uploads saved to Drive

At the end, the file attached to each new entry is saved in a Google Drive folder you choose.

  1. Connect Google Drive

Under Connects, add a Google account that can write to the target folder. Gravity Forms runs on this site and needs no connection.

  2. Trigger on New Form Submission

Create a workflow with Gravity Forms and New Form Submission, choose the form and submit a test entry with a file attached.

  3. Add Upload a File

Add Google Drive Upload a File, choose the folder and map the upload field's file URL and a file name.

  4. Test and switch on

Test the step, check the file in Drive and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • These workflows start from a Gravity Forms entry, so files flow from the form into Drive. Changes in Drive do not touch the entry.
  • The upload field passes a link to the file on your site. Keep the upload on your server until Upload a File has run, or the link will not resolve.
  • Sharing a folder gives the client access to everything in it, so keep internal notes in a separate folder.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Gravity Forms and Google Drive connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Files where the team works

Uploads land in Drive folders named after the client or applicant, not in a WordPress uploads folder nobody browses.

One folder per person

Find Folder, Create a Sub Folder and Router keep every submission from the same person in one place.

Large files, no usage fees

Runs are unlimited and happen on your own WordPress site, so heavy upload days cost the same as quiet ones.

Common questions

Can Gravity Forms uploads go to Google Drive automatically?

Yes. Start a workflow with the Gravity Forms New Form Submission trigger and add Google Drive Upload a File, mapping the upload field. Each new entry's file is saved to the folder you choose.

Can each entry get its own folder?

Yes. Add Create a Folder or Create a Sub Folder before the upload and name it from form fields such as the client's name. Upload a File then uses the new folder.

Can I delete the file from WordPress after uploading?

FlowMattic copies the file to Drive. Removing the original from your site is a Gravity Forms or hosting setting, so check that the Drive copy is there before cleaning up.

Does it work with a Shared Drive?

Yes, if the connected Google account can add files to that Shared Drive. Pick a folder inside it in the upload step.
