Connect MailerLite and Google Sheets

Lists rarely live in one place. Sign-ups arrive in a shared sheet from an event or a partner, and the newsletter goes out from MailerLite. FlowMattic moves people both ways: sheet rows become MailerLite subscribers in the right group, and MailerLite activity is written back as rows. It suits newsletter writers, small shops and marketing teams who report from Google Sheets.

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Add a row for each new subscriber in a MailerLite group

Whenever someone joins a group, their email, name and the date go into a sheet, so the people who report on list growth do not need a MailerLite login.

Subscribe people added to a sheet and put them in a group

Event sign-ups or partner leads collected in a sheet are created in MailerLite with Create or Update Subscriber and placed in the group that starts your welcome automation.

Mark unsubscribes on your master contact sheet

Lookup Row Data finds the person by email and Update Row fills in an unsubscribed date, so anyone using the sheet for other outreach knows to leave them out.

Save a weekly snapshot of a group to its own tab

Each Monday, Get Group Subscribers pulls the group, Create New Sheet adds a dated tab and the list is imported into it, giving you a week-by-week record of who was on it.

Keep a sheet of every campaign you send

Campaign Sent writes the campaign name and send date to a log, which makes a simple content calendar and a reference for which subject lines went out when.

When someone types VIP in the status column, Fetch Subscriber finds the person in MailerLite and Add Subscriber to a Group places them in your VIP group.

Track spam complaints in a deliverability log

Each Spam Complaint adds a row with the address and the date, so you can spot whether one source of sign-ups is behind most of the complaints.

Set up: new group subscribers as rows

When you finish, each person added to your chosen MailerLite group appears as a new row in the sheet.

  1. Prepare the sheet

Add a header row such as Email, Name, Group and Joined on.

  2. Connect MailerLite and Google Sheets

In FlowMattic Connects, add your MailerLite account and a Google account that can edit the spreadsheet.

  3. Trigger on Subscriber Added to Group

Create a workflow with MailerLite and Subscriber Added to Group, choose the group, then add a test subscriber to it.

  4. Write the row

Add Google Sheets with Add New Row, pick the spreadsheet and tab, map the subscriber fields, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Add Subscriber to a Group works on a subscriber who already exists, so create the person first or find them with Fetch Subscriber.
  • New Or Updated Spreadsheet Row fires again whenever a row is edited. For sheet-to-MailerLite workflows, New Spreadsheet Row or one watched column avoids repeat runs.
  • MailerLite custom fields depend on your account, so the mapping above is an example. Create the fields in MailerLite before mapping sheet columns to them.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

MailerLite and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Your list passes through your server

Subscriber data moves between MailerLite and Google through FlowMattic on your own WordPress site, without another automation provider in the middle.

Large imports cost nothing extra

Runs are unlimited, so pasting a thousand rows from an event into the sheet subscribes all of them at no extra charge.

Both directions with one tool

MailerLite and Google Sheets both have triggers and actions, so the same setup handles imports into MailerLite and reports out of it.

Common questions

How do I set up a Google Sheets MailerLite integration?

Connect both accounts in FlowMattic. For sheet to MailerLite, start from New Spreadsheet Row and add Create or Update Subscriber. For MailerLite to sheet, start from a trigger such as Subscriber Added to Group and add Add New Row.

Can I import a whole existing sheet into MailerLite?

Yes. Start from Schedule, read the rows with Get Row Data, loop with Iterator and run Create or Update Subscriber for each. Run it once, then let New Spreadsheet Row handle new additions.

Will existing subscribers be duplicated?

Create or Update Subscriber updates the subscriber when the email already exists in MailerLite, so running the same row twice does not create a second subscriber.

Can I send a campaign from the sheet?

Send Campaign is a MailerLite action, so a sheet change such as a Send column set to Yes can run it. Test the step on a small group before using it on your main list.

Can I record which subscribers finished an automation?

Yes. Subscriber Completed Automation fires when someone finishes the workflow you pick, and Add New Row can log them, which helps measure how many people finish an onboarding series.
