Connect Stripe and ClickUp

When money arrives in Stripe, someone usually has work to do: onboard the client, ship the order, thank a big customer or win back a cancellation. FlowMattic turns Stripe events into ClickUp tasks, lists and checklists from your WordPress site, so agencies, SaaS teams and service businesses start that work on time.

When Stripe fires New Subscription, FlowMattic runs Create Task in ClickUp with the data from that event.

Stripe and ClickUp workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Open an onboarding task with a checklist for each new subscription

A new plan sign-up creates a task in the onboarding list with a checklist of kickoff steps, such as welcome call, account setup and first report, assigned to the account manager.

Have an AI agent review each charge for dispute risk

An AI Agent step looks at the amount, customer and description of every successful charge, and a ClickUp task is opened for finance with its reasoning when something looks unusual.

Create a folder and list for each new client

Agencies that bill through Stripe get a ClickUp folder named after the customer with a first list inside, so the project space is ready before kickoff.

Start a win-back task when a subscription ends

When a subscription is deleted, a task tagged churn goes to the customer success list with the plan and customer email, so someone asks why they left.

Ask for a personal thank-you on large payments

A Number Formatter turns the charge amount into a readable figure and a Filter lets through only payments above your threshold, creating a task for the founder to call or write.

Brief marketing when a new product is added

Each product created in Stripe opens a task for the launch page and announcement, with the product name and description, so new offers do not go live unannounced.

Invoice the client when a project task is marked done

For agencies that bill per delivery: moving the task to done creates the Stripe invoice, so finished work is billed without someone remembering to do it.

Set up: onboarding tasks for new subscriptions

When you finish, every new Stripe subscription opens a ClickUp task with an onboarding checklist.

  1. Connect Stripe and ClickUp

Add both accounts under Connects in FlowMattic.

  2. Trigger on new subscriptions

Start with the Stripe New Subscription trigger and create a test subscription so a real event is captured.

  3. Create the task

Add ClickUp Create Task in your onboarding list and name it with the customer and plan.

  4. Add the checklist

Add Create Checklist on the new task, then one Create Checklist Item step for each kickoff step.

  5. Test and turn on

Test the steps, open the task in ClickUp to check the checklist, then switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Work can also flow back to billing: a ClickUp trigger such as Task Status Updated can run Stripe actions like Create Invoice or Create Payment Link when a job is marked done.
  • One subscription payment can fire both New Charge and Invoice Payment Succeeded. Use one of them per job so you do not get two tasks.
  • Run tests with Stripe test data where you can, so practice events do not appear as real customer work.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Stripe and ClickUp connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Payments start the work

Twelve Stripe triggers, from new customers to cancelled schedules, can each open the task, list or checklist that the event calls for.

Busy billing days cost nothing extra

Runs are unlimited, so the first of the month with many renewals costs the same as a quiet day.

Billing data via your own site

Workflows run on your WordPress server, so customer and payment details pass to ClickUp without another automation service.

Common questions

What does the Stripe ClickUp integration do?

It turns Stripe events such as new subscriptions, charges, customers and cancellations into ClickUp tasks, folders, lists, checklists and tags, so the follow-up work is tracked where your team plans it.

Can finishing a ClickUp task bill the client in Stripe?

Yes. Start with Task Status Updated, add a Filter for your done status, then run Stripe Create Invoice or Create Payment Link for the client. Keep the Stripe customer ID in a task custom field so the step knows who to bill.

Can I assign tasks by plan?

Yes. Put a Router after the trigger with a path per plan or product, and give each Create Task step the list and assignee for that plan.

Can each payment go on an existing client task as a comment?

Yes, if you store the task ID. Post Task Comment can add a note such as paid amount and date to the client's task each time Invoice Payment Succeeded fires.
