Connect Typeform and WordPress

Typeform is good at asking questions. WordPress is where the answers need to do something: open an account, store a profile detail, start a draft post or give someone a new role. FlowMattic connects a Typeform response to those WordPress actions on your own site, with checks and approvals in between where you want them.

When Typeform fires New Form Submission, FlowMattic runs New User in WordPress with the data from that event.

Typeform and WordPress workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Create a WordPress account from each Typeform response

Registration or application forms built in Typeform open a user on your site with the name and email given, so the person can log in without filling in a second form.

Save onboarding answers to the member's profile

Get User by Email finds the member who filled in your onboarding survey and Update User Meta stores their answers, so your site can personalise what they see.

Approve role upgrade requests before they apply

A member asks to become a contributor or partner. Human in the Loop pauses the workflow until an admin approves, then Change User Role gives them the new role.

Turn guest post submissions into draft posts

Writers submit a title, summary and article through Typeform. The workflow saves it as a draft post with the writer's name, ready for an editor to review.

Tidy customer stories into posts with a category

An AI Agent turns raw survey answers into a short case study, the workflow saves it as a draft and Add Category to Post files it under customer stories.

Update returning members instead of creating duplicates

A Router checks the result of Get User by Email. Known members get their details updated with Update User, and only new people get a fresh account.

Set up: an account per response

Once this is running, each Typeform response creates a WordPress user with the details from the form.

  1. Connect Typeform

In FlowMattic, open Connects and add your Typeform account.

  2. Pick the form

Create a workflow with Typeform and New Form Submission, choose the form, and submit one test response so the answers are captured.

  3. Create the user

Add a WordPress step with New User, map the email, first name and last name, and set the role new users should get.

  4. Test with a fresh email

Run the step with an email that has no account yet, check the user in wp-admin, then switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Typeform has no actions here, so workflows go from a response into WordPress. A WordPress event cannot change a Typeform form.
  • New User needs an email and username no other account uses. Check with Get User by Email first if people may answer more than once.
  • The questions in your form decide the fields, so the mapping is an example. Make the email question required.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Typeform and WordPress connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Accounts are created on your server

Responses go from Typeform to your WordPress site and the user is created there, without another automation service holding the answers.

As many responses as you get

Runs are unlimited, so a busy application form costs the same as a small one.

WordPress does the rest

Users, roles, user meta, posts and categories are all WordPress actions, so one response can set up an account and its content.

Common questions

How do I set up a Typeform integration with WordPress?

Install FlowMattic on your WordPress site, connect Typeform under Connects, and build a workflow that starts with New Form Submission. Add WordPress actions such as New User or New Post and test them with a real response.

Can a Typeform response create a WordPress user?

Yes. Use the New User action and map the email and name questions. Set the role in the step, and check for an existing account with Get User by Email if people might submit twice.

Can responses become blog posts?

Yes. The New Post action creates a post from the answers. Most sites save these as drafts so an editor reviews them before they go live.

Can I store answers on an existing user?

Yes. Find the user with Get User by Email, then save answers with Update User Meta under keys you choose. Themes and plugins can read those keys.

Can someone approve a request before WordPress changes?

Yes. Put a Human in the Loop step before the WordPress action. The workflow waits for an approval before it changes the user's role or creates the account.
