Connect WooCommerce and Google Drive

Some stores sell things that live in Google Drive: course material, design files, photo galleries or client work. FlowMattic connects WooCommerce to Drive on your WordPress site, so a paid order can share the right folder with the buyer, a service order can get its own project folder, and store reports and images can be saved to Drive.

When WooCommerce fires New Order Created, FlowMattic runs Share Folder in Google Drive with the data from that event.

WooCommerce and Google Drive workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Share a Google Drive folder with the buyer after checkout

Sellers of templates, presets or course files share the product's folder with the buyer's billing email, so access goes to the person who paid rather than a public link.

Create a project folder for each service order

Photographers, designers and agencies selling services get a folder per order, named with the order number and client, shared with the client for briefs and deliverables.

Add the shared file link to the order as a note

When an order is paid, FlowMattic finds the delivery file, makes a share link and writes it to the order as a note, so staff can see exactly what the buyer was sent.

Back up each new product's main image to Drive

Every product you create has its featured image uploaded to a Drive folder, which gives you a copy of catalog photos outside the media library.

Save a weekly sales report as a document in Drive

A Schedule pulls the WooCommerce sales report every Monday, Text Formatter lays out totals, refunds and order count, and the result is saved as a file the owner or accountant can open.

Mark a client folder as refunded when the order is refunded

A refund finds the order's folder by its order number and renames it with Refunded, so your team stops work on it and knows not to deliver more files.

Start a product listing from each file added to a Drive folder

Sellers of templates and presets drop a new file into a products folder, and Create New Product sets up the listing with the file name, so it only needs a price and description.

Set up: share a folder after checkout

When you finish, each new WooCommerce order shares the product's Google Drive folder with the buyer's email.

  1. Prepare the folder

Put the files for the product in one Google Drive folder and copy its ID from the folder's address.

  2. Connect Google Drive

Add a Google Drive connection under Connects with the account that owns the folder. WooCommerce runs on the same site.

  3. Start with New Order Created

Create a workflow with the WooCommerce New Order Created trigger and place a test order to capture the order data.

  4. Check the product

If you sell more than one digital product, add a Router on the line item so each product shares its own folder.

  5. Share the folder

Add Share Folder, enter the folder ID and map the billing email. Test it with your own email and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Drive triggers carry file details, not order data. Put the order number or SKU in the file name when a Drive file should change something in the store.
  • New Order Created can run for orders that are not paid yet, such as bank transfers. For paid-only delivery, use Order Paid or Order Status Set to Completed.
  • There is no action here to remove someone's access to a shared folder. Rename or move the folder for refunds, or stop sharing it in Drive by hand.
  • Find Folder and Find File search by name, so include the order number in folder names to keep them unique.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

WooCommerce and Google Drive connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Delivery tied to the order

Files are shared with the buyer's billing email, so access follows the purchase instead of a link anyone can forward.

Store data goes from your server

Order details travel from WooCommerce to Google through FlowMattic on your own WordPress site.

Busy launches cost the same

Runs are unlimited, so sharing folders with a thousand buyers on launch day needs no bigger plan.

Common questions

Can WooCommerce share a Google Drive folder with a customer?

Yes. A WooCommerce trigger such as New Order Created or Order Paid starts a workflow with Google Drive Share Folder, using the buyer's billing email. They get access in their Google account.

Does the buyer need a Google account?

Sharing by email works best when the address has a Google account. For buyers who may not, use Share File with Anyone and send the link in an order note or email.

Can each product share a different folder?

Yes. Use a Router on the product name or ID with one Share Folder step per product, or Product Purchased triggers for each product.

Can I store invoices in Drive?

You can write order details to a file with Create File From Text and convert a Google document with Export File to PDF, or upload a PDF that another step produced with Upload a File.

Can Drive changes update the store?

Yes. New File, New File in Folder and Updated File can start a workflow that runs WooCommerce actions such as Create New Product, Add Order Note or Change Order Status. Name files with the order number or SKU so the workflow can find the right record.
