Connect Google Sheets and Pushover

A shared spreadsheet changes all day, and nobody watches it closely. FlowMattic watches it for you and sends a Pushover notification to your phone or desktop when something worth knowing happens: a new row, a stock count below your minimum, a status set to urgent, or a task due today. It is for small teams and solo operators who run real work from Google Sheets.

When this happens in Google Sheets6 triggers

Do this in Pushover1 action

1. TriggerNew Spreadsheet Row
2. ActionSend a Pushover Notification

When Google Sheets fires New Spreadsheet Row, FlowMattic runs Send a Pushover Notification in Pushover with the data from that event.

You build this in the FlowMattic workflow builder on your own site. See the setup steps

Google Sheets and Pushover workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Get a push notification for each new row

Orders, bookings or sign-ups that land in a sheet from any source show up on your phone with the key columns, so you do not need to keep the sheet open.

Warn yourself when a stock cell drops below the minimum

Watch the one cell that holds a count, such as remaining stock or seats. A Filter lets the alert through only when the value falls below the number you set.

Push an alert when someone marks a row urgent

The team sets a Status column to Urgent in a shared tracker. FlowMattic sends a Pushover alert with the row's details to whoever is on call.

Send each morning's due tasks to your phone

A daily Schedule reads the task sheet, loops over the rows and pushes one notification for each task whose due date is today.

Know when someone deletes a row from a shared sheet

In a sheet many people edit, a deleted row can go unnoticed for weeks. A Pushover alert names the row that went, so it can be restored from version history.

Log webhook alerts in a sheet and push them to you

Monitoring or trading tools that send webhooks get a row each in an alerts sheet, followed by a Pushover notification, so you have both the record and the heads-up.

Hear when sign-ups pass your target

Each evening a Schedule counts the rows in a registrations sheet, and a Filter sends a Pushover alert when the count has passed your goal or venue capacity.

Set up: a notification for each new row

At the end, every new row in your chosen sheet sends a Pushover notification to your devices.

  1. Connect both accounts

Add Google Sheets and Pushover under Connects in FlowMattic, using a Google account that can open the spreadsheet.

  2. Choose New Spreadsheet Row

Start a workflow with the Google Sheets New Spreadsheet Row trigger, pick the spreadsheet and tab, and add a test row so FlowMattic captures the columns.

  3. Write the notification

Add Send a Pushover Notification and put the columns that matter, such as name, item and amount, in the title and message.

  4. Test and switch on

Send the test notification, check it on your phone and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Pushover has one action and no triggers, so these workflows always start from Google Sheets, a Schedule or a Webhook.
  • Update Cell Data fires on any cell edit and gets noisy. Use Update Specific Cell Data or Update Specific Column Value to watch only what matters.
  • If a workflow writes to the same sheet it watches, its own row can start it again. Watch one tab and write to another.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Google Sheets and Pushover connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Alerts where you look

Pushover reaches your phone, tablet or desktop, so a change in a sheet does not depend on someone refreshing the tab.

Unlimited runs on your site

FlowMattic runs on your WordPress server with no per-task pricing, so daily checks and busy sheets cost the same as occasional alerts.

Watch rows, cells or columns

Six Google Sheets triggers let you choose how narrow the alert is, from every new row to one specific cell.

Common questions

Can I stop the daily task alert from repeating for done tasks?

Yes. Keep a Done column in the task sheet and add a Filter after the Iterator that skips rows marked done, so only open tasks due today reach your phone.

Can different rows notify different people?

Yes. Add a Router on a column such as Owner or Region and give each path its own Pushover step set up for that person.

Can I include a link to the sheet in the notification?

Yes. Paste the spreadsheet URL into the message, or add the row number so you can jump to the right place.

Can the notification come from data that is not in a sheet yet?

Yes. The Webhook trigger can catch an alert from another app, write it to the sheet with Add New Row and push it to you in the same run.
