Connect Rocketlane and Google Sheets

Rocketlane runs your customer onboarding projects: phases, tasks, forms and the customers you invite. FlowMattic writes the events you choose to Google Sheets, so services leaders get a portfolio sheet of every project, a list of overdue tasks, and a CSAT log, without building reports inside Rocketlane.

Rocketlane and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Log every new Rocketlane project in a sheet

Each project created becomes a row with customer, owner and start date, giving leadership a portfolio list they can sort and filter.

Keep each project's phase status current

When a phase changes status, the workflow finds the project row and writes the phase and status, so the portfolio sheet shows where each onboarding stands.

List overdue tasks for the weekly review

Each overdue task adds a row with project, task and assignee, so the services meeting starts from a list instead of clicking through projects.

Mark archived projects as closed

Project Archived finds the project in the portfolio sheet and sets its status and close date, so active counts stay correct.

Set up: a portfolio of projects

At the end, each project created in Rocketlane adds a row to your portfolio sheet.

  1. Create the portfolio tab

Add headers such as Project ID, Project, Customer, Owner, Start date and Status.

  2. Connect Google Sheets

Under Connects, add a Google account that can edit the portfolio.

  3. Choose Project Created

Create a workflow with the Rocketlane Project Created trigger and complete the connection the trigger step asks for.

  4. Create a test project

Start a project in Rocketlane so FlowMattic captures its fields.

  5. Map and turn on

Add Google Sheets Add New Row, map the project fields, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Rocketlane sends separate triggers for each kind of change, such as Phase Status Updated or Task Assignee Updated. Build one workflow per change you want in the sheet.
  • Keep the project ID in its own column. Every update workflow finds the row by it.
  • Form CSAT Submitted is separate from Task CSAT Submitted. Add both if you collect CSAT on forms too.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Rocketlane and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Client data on your server

Project and customer details pass through your own WordPress site to the sheet, with no other automation account in between.

Many projects, same cost

Runs are unlimited, so dozens of active onboardings with frequent task updates need no bigger plan.

Reports for leadership

Portfolio, overdue and CSAT tabs give executives a view without Rocketlane seats.

Common questions

How do I export Rocketlane projects to Google Sheets?

Create a workflow with the Rocketlane Project Created trigger and a Google Sheets Add New Row step. Map project ID, name, customer and owner, test with a new project and switch it on.

Can I track overdue tasks?

Yes. Task Overdue fires when a task passes its due date. Write each one to a tab with project, task and assignee for your review meeting.

Can I collect CSAT scores?

Yes. Task CSAT Submitted and Form CSAT Submitted each start a workflow. Log the project, score and comment and average them in the sheet.

Can I keep phase progress on the project row?

Yes. Use Phase Status Updated, find the project with Lookup Row Data and write the phase name and status with Update Row.
